Women: Please share .... Despite having my wife's own descriptions of her various habits, I am curious about the menstrual habits of women in-general: - Do you prefer Pads, Tampons or "cups"? - How often do you change them? - Do you, as a habit, change each time you urinate? (and yes I realize tampons do not need to be removed to urinate) - Have you ever NOT used any menstrual product during your period? - Are you fairly open with others about your mestruation (friends, significant Other, etc.), or is it a purely private matter? - What is your general attitude towards your own menstruation (welcome and accepting, inconvenient, resentful, etc.)?
It is a private matter. I don't even go into detail with a significant other unless we've been together for a long time and he already knows my habits. No, I'm not resentful. It is not altogether unpleasant, but it is reassuring. As reassuring as bleeding non-stop for several days can be.
it sucks all around. I don't know what cups are, I use tampons ... if I am grumpy sick or tired I use a thin maxi thank you ... my flow is light my attitude large. Change your pad every 4 hours and tampons every 4-6 unless needed.
My menstrual habits are really out of whack because I always forget to stop taking my Seasonale birth control pills... So I couldn't tell you.
- Do you prefer Pads, Tampons or "cups"? The first two. Thinking about getting a cup. - How often do you change them? Depends on how heavy the flow is. - Do you, as a habit, change each time you urinate? As a habit, no. - Have you ever NOT used any menstrual product during your period? No. - Are you fairly open with others about your mestruation (friends, significant Other, etc.), or is it a purely private matter? My SO & OSO know, roomies/family are usually aware and half the time we're synched up anyway. - What is your general attitude towards your own menstruation (welcome and accepting, inconvenient, resentful, etc.)? It's kind of annoying, in that my SO isn't down with intercourse during that time, and there's the whole "bleeding for days" thing. But honestly, other than the minor inconveniences, I welcome it. It's a sign things are going as they should be, and I'm grateful for that.
Im an open-minded person and all that stuff...but i cant really see why you want to know, to be honest. If youre just curious then thats ok i guess...its not really a big deal anyway, as in answer to your last question, its a tiny inconvenience but i certainyl dont resent it or anything
Do you prefer Pads, Tampons or "cups"? Both tampons and pads when I start, cause the flow is usually heavy, then just pads - How often do you change them? When its time - Do you, as a habit, change each time you urinate? (and yes I realize tampons do not need to be removed to urinate) as a habit, no. and how expensive would that be if i did? - Have you ever NOT used any menstrual product during your period? no - Are you fairly open with others about your mestruation (friends, significant Other, etc.), or is it a purely private matter? friends, family, we are usually in sync. it's no big in my house. My guy doesn't care. He's still down to get down. - What is your general attitude towards your own menstruation (welcome and accepting, inconvenient, resentful, etc.)? Most of the time it is inconvienent, and painful -I get hella bad cramps and lower backache. But recently it was reassuring, so its all good
well i used to use tampons until i discover the moon cup i love my mooncup i only got to use it for two cycles before i got pregnant again. but the short time i used it i absolutely loved it. i usually emptied out the cup every 4 hours or so i am a light bleeder but every three months my period gets heavier so then i change it every 2 hours. no i have not never used a menstrual product during my period i always made sure that i had a pad tampn or what ever. well duh i am open about my cycle it a natural thing that occurs and if it disgucts someone then they dont have to listen. my attitude about my menstrual cycle is that it is a natural human thing that happens and there is no changing it no matter what birth control your on or what
can all the women here please not wrap your tampon in toilet paper and flush it down the toilet... i work at a cafe where people do that and it blocks the toilet
[from http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Menstrual_cup] A menstrual cup is a type of cup or barrier worn inside the vagina during menstruation to collect menstrual fluid. Unlike more common methods, such as tampons and pads, the cup neither absorbs the flow nor catches it outside the body. There are two main kinds of menstrual cup currently available for sale in countries like the USA, Canada and UK (or over the internet). The most common kind is a bell-shaped cup made of rubber (latex) or silicone. It is reusable and designed to last for about 10 years, with proper care. Brand names of this type of cup include The Keeper, The DivaCup, Lunette and The Mooncup. The second kind of menstrual cup is currently only manufactured by one company and is called Instead. It resembles the contraceptive diaphragm (although it is not a contraceptive device ) and is disposable, designed for one use only. Menstrual cups are not commonly used; the vast majority of women in Western countries use disposable tampons or disposable sanitary napkins (also known as towels or pads). A number of different companies have attempted to promote the use of menstrual cups during the 20th century; many of these products were withdrawn when they failed to gain widespread popularity. There are currently a growing number of women who are looking for alternatives to brand-name tampons and disposable sanitary napkins (for health, ecological, economic or other reasons). Other popular alternatives to these products include: non-bleached (and often non-GM cotton) or organic tampons; washable cloth sanitary napkins; natural sponges; and menstrual cups.
- Do you prefer Pads, Tampons or "cups"? I'm currently adjusting to using a cup although it hasn't been working out to well. - How often do you change them? It changes with my flow. When it's really heavy I change it every couple hours.. unless it's leaking.. then more often. But, with a lighter flow I change it every 5-6 hours or so. - Do you, as a habit, change each time you urinate? (and yes I realize tampons do not need to be removed to urinate) Nah. - Have you ever NOT used any menstrual product during your period? No.. you really can't do that without being ostersized . - Are you fairly open with others about your mestruation (friends, significant Other, etc.), or is it a purely private matter? Yeah, I'm pretty open. It's your period.. what's the point of just hiding it from people? I am woman, hear me roar.. hah. - What is your general attitude towards your own menstruation (welcome and accepting, inconvenient, resentful, etc.)? I'm jealous of men but I accept it. Though quite inconvienient, and sometimes painful, it's part of womanhood. I'm tough enough to be a woman .
- Do you prefer Pads, Tampons or "cups"? Tampon - How often do you change them? About every 8 hours - Do you, as a habit, change each time you urinate? (and yes I realize tampons do not need to be removed to urinate) No... I know people that do though. It's because if you wear a tampon the string gets wet. - Have you ever NOT used any menstrual product during your period? Sometimes, when it's light and I'm just chilling at the house. If I go out I always wear something. - Are you fairly open with others about your mestruation (friends, significant Other, etc.), or is it a purely private matter? Yeah, if it ever came up. I'm open to talk about anything because I don't think things should be so taboo in this culture. Knowledge is power and when we hide behind false ideals we are just scaring ourselves away from what should be important. - What is your general attitude towards your own menstruation (welcome and accepting, inconvenient, resentful, etc.)? Neutral. It's just a part of life.
Doesn't that annoy you? Ha, it's like "I'm a woman in menstrual hell, I'm horny as fuck, and I neeeeeeddd your help!" Then again, who can really blame 'um?
- Do you prefer Pads, Tampons or "cups"? I love my Diva Cup. I occasionally use tampons, disposable pads, or cloth pads, but it's mainly the cup. - How often do you change them? I empty it at least twice a day, morning and evening. Sometimes I have to empty it at lunch if it's a heavy day. - Do you, as a habit, change each time you urinate? (and yes I realize tampons do not need to be removed to urinate) Nope. - Have you ever NOT used any menstrual product during your period? No, my period is way too heavy for that, especially the first 3-4 days. I'd soak any chair I sat on. - Are you fairly open with others about your mestruation (friends, significant Other, etc.), or is it a purely private matter? I talk about my cup sometimes because I think it's really cool. - What is your general attitude towards your own menstruation (welcome and accepting, inconvenient, resentful, etc.)? A mix of both. I have polycystic ovary syndrome, so I rarely get my period unless I'm on hormonal birth control. It's nice when it shows up because it kind of makes me feel like a woman. I do kind of resent the inconvenience and the mess, but it's no biggie really.
I have a diva cup but can't get it to work right. I use pads and tampons. How often I change them depends on the flow.... anywhere from 2-3 hours to 6 or 7 hours. No, I don't always change whenever I pee.. but sometimes I do. I have always used a menstrual product during my period. Yes, I am fairly open about it.... with my husband and with female friends. And hell, I'll bitch about cramps or pms to my guy friends too.... whatever... I am accepting of it although I dont like it. I'm not resentful though. Sometimes I get bad cramps and it makes me misreble for a while, sometimes it's not so bad at all and I don't mind at all. Sometimes I get REALLLY bad pms though and hate the world.
- Do you prefer Pads, Tampons or "cups"? Tampons. Cups are fucking weird. - How often do you change them? Whenever I remember. Few times a day. - Do you, as a habit, change each time you urinate? (and yes I realize tampons do not need to be removed to urinate) Nope. - Have you ever NOT used any menstrual product during your period? Indeed I have. - Are you fairly open with others about your mestruation (friends, significant Other, etc.), or is it a purely private matter? About as open as I am with what I made for lunch. - What is your general attitude towards your own menstruation (welcome and accepting, inconvenient, resentful, etc.)? Hey everybody, I'm leaking something that looks like raspberry jam mixed with tomato soup and I feel like a tea bag. Not to mention my legs won't work right and my abdomen is being torn apart.
