The centre for psychedelic trance parties in this country is kent for the biggest and most chaotic illegal parties with anything up to 2000 ppl+ at large outdoor event (free party, as in it costs you nothing). Unfortunately when things are on this kind of scale you have a lot of unwanted elements and general sketchy darkness going on, robberys, drugfucked people (too much ketamine etc) and sometimes a nastyish vibe. The past few months I have been keeping away from kent for reasons mentioned above. Party crews to look for up that way are Omniscience ( http://omniforum.psypix.net/forum/index.php ), Organised Kaos (who unfortunately just did their annual party which was one of the best of the summer for sure, Alternate Perception and loads more but I'm not familiar with all seeing as I don't live in kent hehe...
In London there are lots of squat crews, Acidmonkey, Digital Hive and many many more

If you're going to be anywhere near Brighton on the weekend of 8/9th September we are doing a forest party on private land 10 mins outside Brighton (with decent public transport links etc) and a full spectrum of music from psytrance to tekno to dnb to reggae, charity shop dj's, gabber, live punk band, a proper mixed bag of people + 10k rig. 20 odd hours of music and nice space to camp. If you would like to hear any more about our wonderful event please PM and I'm sure an invite can be arranged for you and any friends who may be interested.... peace

don't think so. hardly anybody in cornwall even knew what psytrance is.
apart from a local psy-trance band doing some gigs around some pubs, i didn't notice any psytrance activity. once i heard about a private party, but i think it was cancelled.
i don't know much about the british psy-trance scene, but generally from what i've heard, it's quite strong in london and brighton. (and from what i hear now from the rev, it's also quite big in kent).
did meet quite a few brits at the german psytrance fests this summer, however.

Ummmm... the whole Cornwall thing for a start. As I said, I've been to many free parties in Cornwall and Psytrance is usually a common thing along with your usual DnB, House, gabba etc.
I guess you just weren't informed of where the action was at.

yep, noticed the dnb, house etc...
but generally it seemed like the electronic music scene over there (apart from the dnb) was 10 years behind, which was quite cute.
anyway i only stayed there for 2 months and i was busy looking for a job and house and studies and stuff so i didn't have much time to go to parties.

Well I don't think it's as big in cornwall as in many other parts of the uk, but lots of producers seem to live down that way.
Jaded psy producers don't die, they just go to cornwall....
    ahem.

Bloody winter, I want to be out in the forests again.... You need to come to the south east next year shroomanoid, we had Loopus in Fabula & Mood Deluxe at one (free!) party and Tron, all the liquid recs artists + dj's, the wild things lot + many more known and unknown folks at parties this summer

It sounds like you missed out on the good parties. There does seem to be a penchant amongst the english for shitty old dance music, lots of dissasociative drugs and soundsystems tuned by someone who doesn't have a clue what they're doing and just keep the bass cranked right up, cos, er, bass is heavy. These parties tend to have a strange atmosphere about them where by about 10am the people are munted horribly and become violent or violently ill. Give me a fluffy psy party going till 6pm the next evening please :) :) :)

Which german parties were you at this year dude??? I only made the Voov this year but have been to fullmoon, tshitraka, waldfrieden and indian spirit in the past....

yep, i'll put the south east on my schedule for next time i'll be in the uk :)
as for which german festivals i was this year... basiclly all of them!
well, not really, but from end of june (fusion) until begining of september (indian spirit) i was at a festival in northern germany every weekend. you can check my partytimer on goabase.de to see which ones (i have the same nick there).
it took me over a month to come down from the madness:party:
and return to the "real" world (which is quite boring).
