The elderly are annoying..

This is a great thread!! I just went thru being held capative at one of their yard sales. We went in and they just surrounded us.
It was really awful and one of my friends did not make it out with us. We saw him enslaved in their yard doing yard work.
Many people have gone missing and there are rumors that many young people end up slaves in Senior Retirement trailer parks.
NEVER get in a car with them!!!!

 

Geez wiz - you gotta remember that to most on these boards You Are elderly !

Erze you know not all elderly can be cared for at home. It is a lovely thought but it isn't reality.

 

Oh...I know that, for I used to work in convelescent Hospitals....but i have seen far too many that didnt belong in county care put into homes simply to get them out of the way.

 

alot of elderly spent their lives taking care of kids and grandchildren but the minute they get forgetful or break a hip alot of elderly get locked away in nursing homes and then where are their families....nowhere to be seen

 

in laughter drummin - in laughter - sarcasm must be careful as it often hurts but when you point the fingers at self , it usually takes the sting out and becomes obvious that no offense is intended

 

To all of you teenagers and young "adults" (and I use that term loosely) that like to make fun of and put down the elderly population, did you ever wonder what it would be like to:

1. Have diminished hearing, sight, taste, mobility, etc.?
2. Lose your looks, vitality, sexuality?
3. Live a lonely life, maybe widowed, and your children don't have time for you any longer?
4. Work hard your whole life to save for your retirement, then be forced into poverty because you need $500 worth of prescriptions every month to stay alive?
5. Not be allowed freedoms due to your age, such as driving, at the hands of your caring children?

Think about it, kids. I pledge to be the most annoying old bitty I can be to people like you!

Many of you should be ashamed, even if you are "just kiddin' around". Have some respect, would ya? None of us would even be here without the elders in our families. And don't forget, Karma happens. See the list above.

i like older people cuz they can tell really cool stories and some of them are good
to talk to..well in my case they are.and i think everyone can be annoying at times

 

I'm not saying that people that are unable to drive safely should be allowed, I was trying to make the point that many of our elderly population have lost this freedom...wouldn't you be a little annoyed and/or annoying to others if this was the case for you?

 

You must listen to your elders. For all generations go threw the same thing and what better way to learn then from one who is neared the end of the road. I admit that some old people may be senial and just damn anyoing but they nead someone to talk to thats why they bug you. Old people are regected in the west and I fear the day I get old to seeing how the youth treats them Id rather die at 40. Nothing realy changes so look up to your elders because your just staring into a rinkly old mirror to the future.

jeez havent none of you got a sense of humour - I dont see anyone going to the rescue of teenagersw when some comedian takes the piss out of their lifestyles and habits. Why cant we make fun of what elderly people do
lighten up - 99.9999999999% of what was written by the people who are saying stuff you dont like about old people are just being funny - ya know humourous - dont have a "sense of humour failure" for gods sake

Personally I think everyone should go out - find a racehorse and then superglue a granny to the saddle and enter it in the 3:15 at chepstow

I think elderly people can be some of the most interesting people, even though they have some habits that are quite annoying. The one thing that makes me mad are old people who can't drive.

I respect the elderly because they deserve respect. They lived as long as they have and have lived through much more than some college-aged kid like me. The only time old people really get on my nerves is when they're cranky and mean to me.

Otherwise, I don't have a problem with them.
