learning to play folk

    so, i've been writing some folk music for a while. anyways now im trying to find out how to play old traditional folk tunes like "Go tell it on the mountain" or "Peggy-o"

    anyone know where i could find chords, and music so i can hear the songs online somewhere?

    Hmm.. well as you probably know, for chords, a google search with simple the name of the song, name of the artist and the words "guitar chords" will probably come up with what you want.

    As for music, http://song2play.com/ streams some music. They usually only have popular artists though, but you can try your luck there :)

    Dylan recorded a cover of Peggy-O, so you should be able to find tabs of his version anyway.

    what instrument? if you are looking for mando, see the mandolin cafe and its links.
    I think Mandolin Cafe has links to banjo sites.
    Maybe search for Sing Out! magazine.

    its mostly for guitar, but if i get chords then i can play it on about anything. anyways, i know quite a few traditional folk songs, i was just wondering if any of you knew of ways to learn more.
