Chevy Chase says to the slutty blond
"Lets pretend like we're real human beings"

What does he mean by that?

Huh, I could see that, but I was hoping it had some deeper meaning. Ahhh well guess the movie isn't as great as I thought it was.

Nah it has some lines that make you think, the one I like is after the Father gets struck by lightning and is sulking in the club house. The Judge comes up to him and goes "Pull yourself together, your a man of the cloth" the Father replies "I am a man just like you". Great line, shows that just because he is a preacher dosn't mean that he is above having proablems, so the movie does have at least one line of value.
And Rodney Dangerfield is beyond hysterical.

Gosh, you kids have been deprived. Peter Sellers is great in Pink Panther movies, but the gags owed lots to the masters. Laurel and Hardy. Watch some of their shorts and especially "The Music Box" and "Sons of the Desert." Some of the gags will seem old, but that is because Stan Laurel wrote them the first time long long ago. None better since them. Their timing is especially great. Don't be fooled by modern bathroom humor. Check out the masters.
