    Hey all,

I've had my locks coming up two months now and I've managed to get all the wax out now. They feel tons better for it and seem to be getting tighter a knottier by the day! Got lots of kinks and bumps but i've calmed alot of them down by some palm rolling, i like them regardless, adds character eh :p

I backcombed all my locks in and some of them aren't as fat as i would like them, so i'm wondering, if i were too combine some with elastics would they grow together eventually or should i use one of those crotecting (sp??) hook things that i've seen people talking about. orrr should i out the ones i want to combine and re backcomb them?

    Cheers all.

I wouldn't do that, they'll get fatter in time.

    Check mine:

lol, yeah, nice comparison wp! They definitely will get fatter as they shrink/tighten up. If you decide you really do want to let them combine, I'd recommend letting them do it naturally. This will mean waiting for them to grow together at the scalp, finding the dreads that most naturally want to "be together" and just not ripping them apart during maintenance. That's how I let some of mine grow together as my locks grew in length. I call them "squiddies" because they're all together at the top and the bottom few inches separates into multiple dreads. :)

Bloody hell, hmm, i think i'll just leave them be and let them do what they want. I had no idea they got that much fatter over time..

when i was about 2 months in i made like 6 congos by just wrapping them up together in a wool wrap and the root grew together and then it just followed all the way down. but hey, to each his own

Yep, dreads definantly get bigger with time. The hair that would fall off your head just from the natural process of losing hair gets caught in the dread and they do get fatter.
