yah..it can be terrifying, but it can be very enlightening...theres alot of weird stuff going on there...its an awesome platform for astral projecting...if u can get over ure fear and just accept the situation, u can very easily, with no more effort than a single thought, rise above...

most people treat sleep paralysis, like a curse, and if u do, simply lye on ure side or stomache, that works for alot of people....but im very against this approach, i think its a waste of a beautiful opportunity

I Have Had Sleep Paralysis For as Long as I Can Remember...

My First Experiance of SP was as a Young Child...Waking up Suddenly at Night but being Unable to move my Body...

I tried Calling to my mother...But No Words Came Out...Then I Saw the Toys Around my Room Coming to Life...Flying Around my Night Light...It All Looked so Real...I Freaked Out...

Whenever I Got Then as I Child I Would Freak Out...I Did Not Understand What was Going on...

As I Have Got Older...The Visual Halucinations Bought on by SP Got more and more Scarier...

I Would See UFO's Hovering Outside of my Bed Room Window...
Strange Creatures and Shadows Crawling ABout my Room...
    Aliens Staring at me...Touching me...
Tall...Figures Wearing Long Black Robes...Faces Hidden in Shadow Gliding towards me Very Slowly...

In Time...I Realised Not to Panic...Controled my Breathing...Wait Until I Wake up...

I mostly Have Visual Halucinations Only...
Only a few Times Have I Had an Auidio Halucination During Sleep Paralysis...
One Time I heard my mother Whispering...
Another Time I Heard this Throat Gurgling Sound...Right Besides me...This Freaked me Out Somewhat...

I Have Felt at Times...During SP Something Touching my Legs...Grabbing at me...Probbing me...

During SP...I Have Noticed I am Able to move my Eyes...And so Have Learned to Keep them Closed...And Think About Anything Else...Happy Thoughts...until I am Able to Jerk my Body Awake...

When I First Experianced SP...It Only Ever Happend When I Suddenlt WWake up at Night...

Now SP Only Seems to Happen Before I Fall Asleep...
Especially When I Have Woken up at Night and Having Difficulty on falling Back Alseep...But Also it Happens When I am Feelin Unusually Hot...
    Day or Night...SP Can Happen...

Even When I Experiance No Halucinations...There is a Strange Feeling...That There is a Presence in the Room...Something Watching me...Waiting...Observing...With Sisnister motives in mind...

    That is What Panicks me...

I Have Never Enjoyd an SP Episode...because I Have Only Experianced Things that Have Frightened me and Panicked me...

Whenever I Get SP Episodes...It Could Happen Every Night for a Few Weeks or a month...Then Disappears for Some Time...

I am Not Sure What it is All About...I Do Have General Paranoia and fear of the Dark...This may be Linked as to Why my SP are Such a Scary Experiance for me...

But They Never Last more than a few minutes...

I know that if I Keep my Eyes Closed...I will Stay Calm Until I Can Wake myself up...

Also...Since I Now Only Eperiance SP Before I Fall Asleep...I Always Have a Strange Pounding in my Head...During the SP...

Overwhelming Every Other Sense...This Awful Loud Pounding...
If I Let myself Succumb to This Pounding...It Gets Louder and Louder...

Interesting...It is Only When my Eyes are Closed that my Head is Pounding...But it Never Goes Off...I Have Kept my Eyes Closed Not Forcing myself to Wake up...Seeing Where and How Far this Pounding will take me...But it Simply becomes Unberable...

It is All Very Confusing...And a Throughly Exhausting Experiance that I Never Enjoy...

Not being Able to move my Body...makes me Panick...Because I Have Vived Halucinations...And a Sense That Something Awful is Going to Happen to me...
That Sense of being in a Vulnerable State...Absolutely Helpless and Unable to Control What is Going On...Scares me...

my sp started as a young child as well... very similar to mudpuddles... i got alot of ausitory hallucinations with my visuals, usually accomponied by the dark figure in a long cloak... this entity is usually accomponied by multicolored flashing lights, a haze, and maniacal laughing... another entity i experience is the disembodied head, his face seems to shimmer with multiple covers and jerks around on an axis... it s always a man and it always has a beard and a good amount of hair... the most common entity i experience is the chick with claws, its been a young women as well as an old one, sometimes ugly sometimes beautiful.. i had one experience, which was my reintroduction to sp as a teenager, which was very beautiful and peaceful, a girl layed across my chest and simply smiled, i msay girl cus thats just the vibe i got, it was pretty great, the feeling was so the opposite of normal sp

thanks. to mudpuddle-i noticed that once you can embrace that fear rather than wait for it to be over, things tend to get interesting-and a bit more in control. guess you'll have to see for yourself though. i feel a little more assured hearing experiences so similar to my own.

i had a kinda sp dream the other night... i was sitting in my living room, and i went to the door, and there was a man outside. all of a sudden he was in my house, he grabbed from behind and turned me around. his arms were really tight around me and it was very much like sleep paralysis. i tried to scream for help but couldnt, and thats how i knew where it was going, so instead of trying to fight him while i was in that hold. i just just bit his lip off and woke up. first time i was really scared in a long time.

i've had similar dream experiences.......i'm glad you posted that. mine always seem to be accompanied with the same since of dread, and a very real bodily sensation-a kind of vibration that seems to be merged with the fear itself. in the castaneda books, these experiences were referred to as encounters with very real "inorganic beings". you have no idea how much i appreciate that post.

yeah, i don't really buy into the whole "freudian", or "symbolic" view of dreams. thanks for the comment, though.

I think my dreams are mostly caused by eating a huge bowl of spicy chili right before bedtime.
