I have a t-shirt in the shape of the Ford logo that actually says " Fnord "

I usually get strange looks or all knowing smiles.

    Hail Eris.

Fnord is the typographic representation of disinformation or irrelevant information intending to misdirect, with the implication of a conspiracy.

my understanding as well. credit belongs to robert antoine willson/principia discordia.

fnord for many years was the hi-sighn of discordians.
that's where the 'knowing' looks are probably comming from.

might want to study up on discordianism and the goddess eris
if yer gonna wear the shirt.

not something i have any expertese on, just a passing aquaintence, from my years of gratification with PorSFiS, several leading members of which had been discordians.

indeed themnax... "Fnord is that funny feeling you get when you reach for the
Snickers bar and come back holding a slurpee."

I got my Fnord shirt at a Gencon (yeah, I'm that much of a nerd) many moons ago. The Illuminatus trilogy had a resurgence in the mid 90's and Steven Jackson Games jumped aboard and released a CCG and some other stuff, one of which was a reprint of the Principia. I picked up the shirt and a pin that supposedly denoted me as a memeber of the Department of Redundancy Department. Acutally...I must admit. I had two pins (Wonk wonk).

There's a few good copies of the Principia online if you give google a shot.
