I have a below the knee amputation and I feel that the reason guys don't approach me is because of that. Do you think this will keep me from finding love ? I need advice
have a think about what you could do, in the first instance to get a guy interested. we all have aspects of our personalities that we worry may put people off, yours is just on the more obvouis side. saying that if you have a fake leg it may not be immediaty apparant. any one who has any substance to their charater won't be put off and if they are they're not worth knowing anyway. S
if anything, it'll weed out the shallow assholes who want nothing but sex. you'll get a better, more concise selection of good guys.
If you are confident about yourself, it shows and makes you more attractive to people. Like Samhain said, anyone who doesn't like you just because of your leg, isn't worth your time and you are better off without.
I'm not making fun of you or anything, but I would probably go for a girl with a missing limb. I mean, it is'nt like you've got some freak deformity or someting. At least you have an interesting story to tell.
Look at Paul McCartney. He married a girl with one leg.It really is what is inside that counts. I nearly had to have my leg amputated, then my foot, then toe and I'm lucky to have a toenail - alittle disfigured, but here. I was lucky to have a wonderful surgeon or I would be walking in your shoes. Good luck in all that you do.
I agree with the positive sentiment of all of these posts, however, yes, it probably does keep some guys away. Many are probably intimidated. Maybe you should talk upfront about it, get it out of the way, laugh at it yourself. At least, thats what I would do. (some guys, NOT all, probably not the ones you want, anyway)
hehe sorry this quote has to be brought out... on the movie male jiggalo when he pops the girls legs off... "no it's ok " I shouldn't have pulled so hard" lol anyways, I'm calling the bluff on this one...
