my mother always told me that i could never get a tatoo/piercing because of my heart murmur. she told me that if it got infected the infection could go to my heart, or something like that. but my theory is that she is a typical mother and doesnt want to see her baby with a nose stud (just a little one!) because other people's reaction to this is "what the hell...that doesnt make sense!"
so what do you think? could i still get a nose piercing?

That's not true. I have tattooes and three piercings and I have had a heart murmur since I was 8. I do take amoxicillian before going to the dentist to prevent something happening in case of infection, but as far as tatts and piercings go, there's nothing to worry about. Take care of it like they instruct you to and you'll be fine.

I seriously doubt you'll die from a piercing just because you have a heart murmur... Heart murmurs aren't affected by a needle through your body. And I have a nose piercing - it's nearly impossible to get it infected as long as you clean it. I think your mum is either trying to talk you out of a piercing or was grossly misinformed.
