This is an interesting article about one of the great mistaken beliefs in the history of mankind. http://www.spiked-online.com/index.php?/site/article/548/
Thanks for posting this link. I don't have time to read all of it right now, but I read enough of it to know where the author is heading. I agree wit this article. Eating excess carbs can contribute to high cholestorol. The liver turns excess carbs into triglycerides (spelling?). I want to learn much more about this topic. There are a couple of good books out there exposing myths.
when scientists look at the plaque in pple's arteries (in artherosclerosis) they find that it's made up of fat and sugar didnt read the article, but the prevailing paradigm has been cut fat out of the diet to keep the plaques from forming. to me, that's not very sensible because every single cell in the body has to have fat to make up the cell membranes, without fat we get sick. i think it's important to cut out the unhealthy fats though: trans fats and saturated fats from factory farmed animals. lean fats from wild or biodynamically grown animals are healthy and are what we've evolved to eat.
Bumped because this needs to be read by everyone. Eating cholesterol isn't the problem. It's an overabundance of carbohydrates in the diet that's to blame for cholesterol problems. Specifically simple sugars and grains of any type.
