make sure your cat and other animals are indoors tonight otherwise they may blow away in the storms that are coming on the news they said 80mph gales maybe up to 90
Oh dear I never like winds especially living on the coastal clifftops. Batten down the garden again and hope the roofs stay put.
It was what the weather stations had predicted last year. all we got was a long drawn out bitter cold winter. No winds, no hurricanes and no wild thunderstorms across the Midlands.
Eek oh no, I hate storms. I know something in the garden is going to be destroyed so I shall have to fix it tomorrow
On a Hebredian island at the moment - the storm hit us at about 7am this morning. It isn't cold but the wind is at about 35mph now and the rain horizontal. Nite before last we had a fabulous thunderstorm. No doubt it will get worse as the day goes on Feel sorry for the Princes St Hogmanay crowds....
I think everyone is being dramatic It is only a strong wind. Once tiles start falling off of the roofs and cows and sheds start flying across the road, then we can officially put out a National Weather warning.
Do you think the 85mph winds would have qualified complete with horizontal hail? That's what we had. Not weather to be out in that's for sure. Hope you all had a safe one....
Actually I was really looking forward to big storms and none happened - I thought it would be a memorable new year but nothing of the sort. Sounds horrendous in the Hebredes. Still you all wear big wooly jumpers up there so you'll be ok. How big are/were the waves on the sea?
Yesterday the sea was wild and yes big waves. The sea is at the bottom of the garden here and it can get really loud. The horizon line was bumpy so that is always an indication. We also had frequent hail. Today it has been calm and sunny and warm enough to go for a long walk along the beach with only a big wooly jumper!! Overnight things are set to go back to storms.
