The FBI recently brought to light the fact that they can eavesdrop on any mobile phone even when it is switched off
Activist groups in the UK have an unwritten rule that during meetings batteries are taken out of phones - I would suggest U.S activists realis this and also take such measures.

Yup, this isn't news to me. The government can listen in on you, even with the phone turned off. As long as the battery is in it they can hear you. Plus, all the phones made within the past five years contain chips which can be tracked via satellite to your exact location, even without the battery in the phone. These are RFID chips, which will someday be implanted in humans.

This is just one of the many reasons I don't own a cell phone. Besides, you might as well stick your head in a microwave. These things emit a lot of nasty microwave radiation, and it's no surprise brain tumors are on the rise. Even those of us who don't own cell phones are constantly being bathed in harmful electromagnetic energy, just because of the increased number of cell towers alone.

It amazes me that EVERYONE has to have a fucking cell phone, and has to be using them at the most ridiculous times, like when they are in the checkout line at the grocery store. Funny these people never seem to have anything important to say to those they're talking to, either.

    Monkey see, monkey do.

Man, I really hate cell phones. The sheeple in society would be lost without their cell phones. They wouldn't be able to talk bullshit with their mindless friends all hours of the day.

I was actually bugged by a boss I worked for and I know for a fact they were using a phone they gave me that had been altered in some way. (They said it was a perk) I would say things to my GF about work and within a day or two days they would talk about it with me - so one time I said something like - "I put a file on my computer called "contacts.txt" listing all the phone numbers of their business clients so I can use it if I leave" I also put a keylogger on my computer and noted the time I made that comment to my GF the next day, sure enough 10 minutes after I made that comment someone had been on my computer looking in that file. I tested out this with variations 3 times and each time it was true. I left about a month later. During that month I would take the battery out and put the phone in the next room

I also was able to inform the person who took over my job of what they had done and met him some time later and yep - they offered him a phone infact insisted he use one for biz contacts

Not only can they listen in, but they can also triangulate your location, down to about 50ft. Cell phone with gps can be tracked to down to about 10-15ft.

You know how if you sit a cell phone beside a computer or even a tv and if someone calls you or sends you a text message it will interfer with the computer (or tv)? Kinda make the computer vibrate and make a noise... ?

Lately my phone has more and more been causing an interferance with the computer even when no one is calling or texting or anything else... Makes you wonder a bit....

The fact is you can make any phone into a bugging device really cheaply - companies are out there offering to unlock that feature for you
