What bothers me the most about all this is how quickly it all went down--in particular because there were supposed to be other trials in the future (for example, a trial for murdering thousands of Kurds). I feel like it's very important to engage in national dialogues on hard issues, to make people aware of things and to have a full recounting of what happened. Iraq is torn apart by ethnic strife, and it would do some good to have everyone go through all of Saddam's trials so that there is a _public_ recounting of all of the atrocities. It might be painful and hard, but it at least brings it out into the open and puts it at the forefront. By executing Saddam so quickly, that opportunity is lost. In the short-run, who knows what difference it will make, but my feeling is that, for a tormented nation, taking the time to recount everything would help in the long-term healing process.

    Who sentenced him?

I haven't been payin any attention to this situation at all. I couldn't honestly care less what happens to Saddam. The world will continue spinning with or without him. But just out of curiosity, who was the judge over his trial and what country was it held in?

Trial was held in Iraq with Iraqi judges (a panel of 3).

In my personal opinion I think Reagan should have been executed by a firing squad, if you can recall, it was Reagan who supported Saddam through the Iran Iraq War.

Wow, so when are they going to post the execution online?

All that you see on the media is online...

They might post the entire thing, who knows.

I'm not to excited to see it (even though I will, damn curiosity).

    Interesting question :
Does it strike you as being strange that one power - IE the USA holds him prisoner while another judges him?
Also 2 previous trials were halted when the USA objected that the judge trying him was a sunni muslim. The other trial was halted because the USA felt that the judge wasnt being harsh enough.

It was the USA that requested the iraqis execute him and both Tony Blair and George bush were notably on holiday - to prove their disinterest in the case no doubt
However we all know it was the USA that was his executioner

The timing of it seems bizarre to me.

And let's not forget that while the trial was taking place two of his attornies were assasinated and trial judges were removed and replaced. Sound like a fair trial to you?

So far I have seen no proof of his death, all they showed was how they " prepared " him for the hanging and then afterwards they show a blurry image of what looks like a dead crow. I'm not convinced.

why is that a "happier note"? Why in the fuck would you want to see someone getting hung? I don't care if it's Saddam, I don't don't want to see him getting killed. I know that he's a bad person and he killed alot of people (even though Rumsfeld supplied him the weapons, so there you go) but still I don't think it's right to see another person getting killed. Anyone who finds enjoyment in watching this video is sick and twisted and needs their heads checked.

I agree. Those who rejoice in the notion of vengeance are missing something.

Relax people I think Gravity is using what is known as "Irony" - Its a statement which although saying one thing means its exact opposite.
I wouldnt get too hung up about it.
I doubt that Gravity thinks this is good noose at all
I mean everyone knows no no noose is good noose

    HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

OMG, now that I'm done laughing..... I expect there'll be an awful lot of killin' goin' on then. Saddam, Bush, anyone related to those two, all the soldiers, all the "insurgents", and then all the hangmen. And then whoever had to do the killing gets killed, and then whoever did THAT killing gets killed....................And on and on into infinity until all the killers are gone and the only ones left are those of us who won't. But who is gonna kill the final killers? And that doesn't even take into account all the murderers in prison, or the cops who've killed people. Maybe we could take it a step further and kill all those who manufacture dangerous drugs that kill....... Oh boy. Maybe THAT will make the world a better place.

Get fuckin real.... I'm talking about actual murderers and no one else. Fucking bleeding hearts. Someone who takes a life does not deserve to keep breathing.
Laugh all you fucking want, that doesn't mean squat to me and I never said that for your enjoyment.
    Capital punishment is the answer!
