I just got back from my first trip to Amsterdam and I had a blast. New Years in Dam Square was amazing. This really was the time of my life and i hope to make it back. Thanks to everyone here who helped me prepare for this.
we were actually talking about kidnapping my friend and taking him there for his bachelor party in a couple years (I'm the best man)
I couldn't think of a better place for a bachelor party. I was the best man of a wedding, and we hooked the party up in Vegas. That was fun, a lot of fun. But, A-dam's gotta be unreal.
two or three years ago, i was in amsterdam for New Year´s Eve. One of the craziest experiences i´ve ever had. our hostel was right in the middle of the red light district so that got to be interesting. right before midnight, there was this insane tension in the air. people were frantically running around in all directions. afterwards, there were burnt out cars and scooters in the streets, fireworks, people trying to jump into the canals, fighting, yelling, etc, etc. at one point, a large firework was lit off, hit the side of a building, and shot back down into the crowd. everyone´s trying to run away as this huge, bright explosion goes off. dealing with all that while tripping was pretty fun. happy new year!
