Welcome to Tijuana I like the mood it creates, very relaxing and sunny.. i do not speak spanish but it sure is a beautiful language and that helps a lot to the sound of the songs.. i wish they released more than two albums
you should check out his earlier band Mano Negra...they are pretty fun too, they sing more in French..more of a rock/ska band than manu chau but still good.
I've been listening to Manu Chao / Mano Negra ever since I was 12... I own all of thier albums. Love, love, love them to death. Radio Bemba Sound System is a great live recording of thiers, I would recommend it to any fan.
He also has some stuff under the name of Manu Negra. At one time he toured Columbia in an old train taking music into the boonies for all the people. His train was once stopped by rebels but when they found out who they had they let him go. Great music, great guy.
I saw Manu Chao live last year... it was a great concert. I love "Clandestino" too- reminds me of my backpacking days (it's all the played in hostels around Patagonia and Bolivia). I agree Mano Negra is excellent as well.
Below is a link where you can freely, safely, and legally download the afforementioned Clandestino. Other free tracks available on the compilation but I'm unfamiliar with the acts http://www.emusic.com/album/10988/10988046.html
He really has made wonderful albums. I love both of his studio albums, but I most of all love the live album. One of the best live albums I have. I would love to see him live, but he never comes around this area. I suppose there aren't many fans around here.
