Ive been going out with this girl for over 5 months now. Were both in different colleges, and we are 3 hours away from each other at school and 5min away at home. I got through one semester with her as my gf, didnt cheat on her or any of that, and I really do have strong feelings for her. But I dont think that I want to still have a girlfriend being this far away from me. If she lived only even a hour away I wouldnt have a problem, its basically the distance between us that kills me. I want to tell her that we should take a break. I do not want to cut things off completely, but I want some space myself. Shes going back to school early monday morning, and i go back the following week. I dont really know exactly what to say or when the best time to say it is. Please help me out, I definitly could use some advice.
Tell her that you still want to date her, but not exclusively, since you are so far apart at college. Tell her this would be better for both of you, since if your mutual affection for each other is lasting, you both will decide that dating others is not what you want.
