man, i used to road trip with Jesus Christ Superstar all the time!....another good disc i like is the Doors' "LA Woman" and Deep Purple's "Machine Head" - can't go wrong with cruisin at high speeds to "Highway Star"!
Yeah, some Doors, some Creedence. Personally I prefer rock in my car, riffs that keeps you awake and lyrics you can sing along to. Black Sabbath - Master of reality or Vol. 4 are in my car most of the time. But also stuff like Roy Orbison or the Yardbirds.
anything you can sing along with I would say...... for me, some artists would include Steve Miller Sublime slightly stoopid system of a down bob marley steppenwolf led zep hendrix floyd skynryd eagles doors etc etc etc
Road trip songs, eh? AC/DC is a good start. or judas priest- living after midnight. if you want something trippier for on the road listen to any floyd album all the way through.
old Keller (Blazeabago runnin' on Fumes from Spun, up to Kidney in a Cooler on Laugh) old Cheese lord knows I've driven to some Dead! I have a cheesey 70s hitchhiking CD compilation with City of New Orleans, Chevy Van, One Toke over the Line etc. I keep some folk/ singer songwriter stuff for day and rock out when I need the energy of it at night.
I like listening to trance and house music when I'm driving. The car is a good environment to have it cranked up loud enough to actually hear it properly.
I have always identified southern rock as road trip music. I don't know why. I can't explain it... even when I didn't even know what road trip music was, every time sweet home alabama or ramblin' man came on the radio I would think, hmm... road trip. So I guess my reply to this would be southern rock.
Stuff I always find great for driving, Tom Petty Lynyrd Skynyrd The Outlaws Golden Earring Minus The Bear Iggy Pop Queens of the Stone Age
