The worst kind of meat production. Not the only way meat is produced.

I'm a vegeterian, but see the majority of meat production as being not like is being shown in that video.

I had to work in a pig factory farm in France once - it was awful for them becaause of the lack of space and generally shit lives, but the people were kind to them (within that framework - obviously they shouldn't have been farming that way). Still, I got another view - the family had inherited the farm, had no money, and were completely gentle in handling (despite still castrating pigs etc). I would never eat that meat though. KFC kill their chickens by throwing them against a wall - boycott please.

There are 'acceptable guidlines' and inspections.
    http://www.defra.gov.uk/animalh/welfare/farmed/index.htm

What seems to some [including me] as abhorent behaviour is not. As long as it is done within the law.

    ALL of that IS.

It is a attempt at getting us all into being vegeterians. They do it very well, even if it is manipulative.

Greater and more stringent legislation is needed, no doubt. Any inspectors viewing that site, would put those f*ckers into prison/make them face a substantial fine/ban them from keeping live stock.

    In this country anyway.

I'd agree the systems of vetinary control are very stringent in the UK, obviously some try to sidestep the authorities but knowing a inspector personaly I can assure that some farmers are severly punished, including prison terms, for mistreatment of animals.
