Help stop this war before another 3000 soldiers are killed. find a way to get there it's by United for Peace & Justice they have smaller groups to help organise around the country, so spread the word
Believe me,there aren't enough here. And groups like UFPJ hold the same events over and over. Walk around holding signs and then go home. Meanwhile legislators continue to support the war and imperialism. Demonstrations alone are powerless. A week before the war in Iraq started (Feb. '03) 750,000 (that's 3 quarters of a million) people took the streets of New York City in a cry to prevent the war from starting. I was there. It felt great to be there among so many kindred spirits. Guess what? A week later the war started. That week in NY and San Fran activists blocked intersections with their bodies, shutting down parts of the cities. The war continued. What else do you suggest?
Not entirely true, the Vietnam withdrawl had much to do with home protest about the war. It can be done, you just need enough people. And the anti-war ground simply isn't in the majority right now.
well, I'm not here to give you answers, thats the biggest problem people have today expecting others to solve everything for them. personally I support ( while I'm sure gov. monitors this post) more direct action. but it's up to everyone to put their ideals on the line from musicians, professors, bums, yuppies, druggies and everyone. I say fuck this forum because it's talk, fuck this gov. for obvious reasons, and fuck whoever thinks war is worth anything. I'm willing to do something and just because I can't say what, that doesn't mean I'm willing to give up. I was at a local protest rally 1 year after the war had started, their was about 500 people but those 500 were amazing. if you wanna do something let me know and we could put our heads together and look for some help elsewhere. As for anti-war being the none majority check the news sometime, the people are there but they need leadership, they need to see each other. But I guess it doesn't matter what I say I'm only one guy right?
I agre with"ExposeTheTruth". And I think that hippies could do many many more. The war can t be stopped by protesting on the streets, we must do much more in order to change the MACHINES opinion. The Bush is a hard one. The Vietnam was something else.
Uh, yeah...if you get your information from FOX... Actually, anti-war sentiment represents the VAST majority of the country now. As for providing answers, I'm just one person too. I've attended several 'anti-globalization' events in the past and have witnessed first hand the momentous tide of revolutionary change in the air. Then 9/11 happened and all went downhill since. Why? Because most progressives were too afraid to consider the very real possibility that the 9/11 attacks were planned and orchestrated by elements within the United States government. Luckily, this is beginning to change.
