Hello all! *waves* I'm Chiara, and I'm new here. (Obviously!) It seems like a really nice place here, and I'm glad to see people who haven't completely given up yet. I was beginning to get discouraged. I like exploring and hiking around, usually without a destination in mind. I love music--the Who are my favorite band, closely followed by the Beatles, the Doors, and the Dead. The night I went to see the Who in Columbus, Ohio, was the best night of my life, and I doubt it'll change anytime soon. (I rode 600 miles on a bus just to get there, and had many strange misadventures that I will bore you with later. Trust me.) Nice to see you all!
Hey ! So glad you're here ! Make yourself at home and kick around in here a while. You'll find alot of like minded people here to talk to. The who.....cool ! Peace and Love !
December 11. I'm sorry you missed it too. I thought it was a fantastic show--though that could be my fangirl bias speaking. They did a buncha stuff from their new album, Roger and Pete talked back and forth about silly things (Pete mentioning "I've never had sex in Ohio..." and later amending it with "What am I talking about? I have had sex in Ohio. I had a girlfriend in effing Columbus.") I got to see them leave the building. We couldn't convince them to come up and bother with us, but I'm kind of glad. Still disappointed that I couldn't chat to one of my idols, but still kind of glad--Roger had bronchitis and Pete had the sniffles and I didn't want them getting sicker out in the Ohio cold on our account.
Sounds like a great show. I probably would have gone, I just didn't know about it. Columbus is about 3 hours north of where I live and we go up there every now and then when the good shows come through the area. I haven't been up there in a couple of years, though.
I live in North Carolina. 600 miles away! But dammit, I was gonna go to this concert, come hell or high water. Why Columbus? Because I have an uncle who lives there. I was able to convince him to let me crash there for a few days. (Hotels are too bloody expensive.)
Wow, 600 miles for a concert. You have my respect. I'm not sure if I would have made the same commitment, but then again, the old hippies made road trips like that all the time. It's good that you had relatives in the area, like you said, hotels are expensive. On the other hand, I rode about that same distance to play poker for three days down in Mississippi, but I did alot more than just play cards on that trip, so overall I'd say it was worth the effort.

Well, if you took the Greyhound and went to Columbus I can just imagine what you experienced----been there, done that! Bustramp
