i plan on making a trip to the local bulk billing doctor, with the following story. speaking to the doc: when i was in year 9, i was diagnosed with a.d.h.d and was prescribed ritalin for about 9 months. i became better behaved and my marks improved, however, my mum got talking to her some of her friends and began to worry about the effects of such drugs might do to me. and took me off it. i felt i was worse off it and my misbehavior returned. well, now im 18 sir, i feel like i would like to try myself back on this medication, expecially now that i am going to tafe this year, i do not want to blow my future. if he says well go to a psychiatrist, ill say iv allready gone through that process then and thought id just save me some time going directly through you. Living in australia, does anyone know if they can check to see if i was given ritalin as a child, like from clinic to clinic. if my thinking is way off, please can somone give me some advice. i guess i got to start off at psychiatrist, give the symptoms, start on ritalin. and bullshit my way up to dexamphetamines.
I would try for adderall. Also, i wouldnt say you have tried a certain drug before as I doubt that someone could remember what they were taking 9 years ago (i didnt know the name of some of my asthma medications until a few years ago). i would tell him/her that you have adhd and your mom took you off medication years ago and now it is getting worse and you want to give medications a try. If the doctor asks what medication you were taking say you think it was adderall and my guess is you will get it as long as you know the symptoms of adhd well enough.
thanks bro. is adderal an australian brand name though. also, can you guys give me an insiders view of the symptoms of adhd. like i mean yeah, i can read over the symtoms, but in what way should i say them. if you understand my jiberish, thanks. in other words, in what way should i desribe the symptoms... thank you very much. im gettin exited... maybe i shouldnt mention any medication, he'll put me on ritalin for sure, then ill go back in like 2 weeks to a month, say iv done alot of research and then bam adderal (dexamphetamines)... i assume adderal is dexamphetamines. thanks again....
tell the doctor you can t focus on anything get anything done or remember shit your thinking is erradic and it is making your life hell and you cant ignore it.
if you have beeen pulled off meds wihtout the doctor...o man you are guarenteed some drugs...its makes them very mad when parents do this
Wait until your 19. Then atleast your old enough to do it responable anyway. Then just go to your doctor and say, I can't consentrate at work/school and i find it hard to pay attention because I have a real short attention span, I remeber being on it when i was younger and it helped alot. Boom, just like that you got a perscription. $40 a month for like 20 or 30 bucks, sweeeeeeeeet
i think its a bit tougher now days. this post is way old. but you have to go to a psychiatrist for a few sessions before you would ever get prescribed ritalin. so yeah it would be worth the hasle tho.
