hi. my ex's birthday is in march, and im thinkin of getting her something...just as a friendly gift. she does have a bf, who was a good school mate. what d'ya's think??... i was thinkin maybe an o.a.r cd, 'cos i kinda got her into them, and she's been listening to them lately- saying she couldn't find any of their cd's (we're in the UK, so they're not heard much over here)....so id have to more than likely get it imported. which i dont mind [= ...how would you act if an ex done to this to you? thanks alot guys x
If an ex gives me a present for my birthday, i would be suprised, but i would accep it because it's nice thing to do, as long as we are still friends. If i se that the present is carefully chosen i would probably think that he wants to get back together.
haha, i thought some would say that... it aint no lie though. i do still have, immense, feelings for her. dont think she has a clue though. i was just thinkin of maybe doin this one thing, not caring (for once) if it shows her i still like her...but i dont want to seem 'intrusive', if you's know what i mean? thanks again [=
depends on the kind of relationship you currently have. I've had one ex buy me something for me bday, I thought it was really sweet and felt a bit bad that I couldn't reciprocate (broke as hell). If he'd've been in town I would've found something nice to do for him, even just cook supper for him and his gf, but he was out of town so any bday gift would've had shipping and handling costs associated with them
Like imhurria said, it depends on the relationship you have with her now. If any of my ex's got me something for my birthday, I would be, like, "What the heck?" Because honestly I do not talk to any of my ex's. I do agree with the others that say it will probably make her think you have feelings for her...And that's not a good thing if she has a bf.
the relationship i have with her now is like, we still talk, there isnt much tension really (well sometimes for me, if she's with her bf n that...but i just keep it to myself. as always)...so we talk whenever we see each other, and keep regular contact through the likes of myspaz n msn (i know, it aint ideal, but i cant go out with my/her mates anymore...not when she's with her bf. seem assholeish?...meh, maybe so) ...i dunno, i really want to...but dont wana cause any shit for her. even though i just wana implode sometimes. thanks anyway, i suppose i'll sort it out when it comes around...end of march. got a bit of time p=
i would be a bit surprised too if someone i had gone out with in the past gave me something as a gift, i mean, it would be nice and all that but i would read more in to it probably..
what do you mean "read more into it"?...as in try to find out if he/they still had feelings for you?? 'cos i think my ex kinda' has an idea, but not for certain. like, i aint actually told her in words...its complicated. lol
we went out for 2 years, then ended it 'cos it grew old. too bland, and we took each other for granted (we spent more or less EVERY day of the week together). but now its been since April, so 9 month now? she didnt see anyone for 5/6 month, then started seeing a guy from her school...ended that, apprently 'cos she didnt want a bf (thats what ive been told by him)...then 2 weeks later, started seeing the dude i know from school. i know this thread is drifting away slightly from it's orginal intension, but meh... so yeah, there we go...8 to 9 month we've been split. thanks for all the responses mind, means a lot. just hope it doesnt end soon...lol. x

I was just asking... you wanting to get her something small for her birthday seems fine to me. I give and get gifts from a couple of my ex's for birthdays and such. Nothing wrong with it at all.
its good to get other people's opinions on things isn't it? that's why i like the forums they good for getting things off your chest or for giving advice on was that the cd you were gonna give her that she's got?
yeah, deffintly. its a way for all of us, as a 'community' as such, to kinda solve/ give advice on matters. even though we dont know each other, and more than likely never will do, it's nice to know people have opinions on the things we talk about. and no, i gave her the second disc of a live album of the band when we were still seeing each other. this album is another one, its got a swish tree on the cover. which she said she really liked...meh, i dont know. so what if im tryin to hit some kinda' spot with her, im just sick of keepin quiet to keep others happy. keep the peace n shit. right... since i posted this, she has split with her bf. i havnt been told officially, but its obvious (myspace setting, friends list blah-de-blah) ...and from what i can gather, its cos she "doesnt want a boyfriend" (she said that to the guy before that too)... my heads all over the place. i wana jump in, haha, ya know, see how she feels and that...but im not gonna'. gotta' refrain meself. anyway, i keep getting the feeling she's putting herself out to me, in a very small way, sometimes. like on sunday (before i knew they split), i said i'd take a copied cd round for her. i was just round the corner from her street, as i was at a mates house doin a band practice. she's asked me to go out on a thursday to town, for her mates birthday night thing, sent me a message on myspaz saying i "looked mint with my hair tied back. just thought id tell ya"...oh man. my head is floating. what ya's think?? thanks again guys, and gals.
