there are so many boundaries. we can only think of what we can speak of because we know its there and it has a name. we for example, cannot really imagine what evolution may be like on some other planet in another galaxy. maybe they dont even SEE! maybe they....oh i dunno do something else we have no word for. maybe it's not even evolution but something ELSE. shit u can't EVEN imagine. it aint even like star wars or star trek, hell even asimov or c.clark cant imagine when u really think about allllllll the possible things it could be. bah!!!
why stress over that which we have no idea about, like galaxies far far away, or death? death is inevitable, so i think people should celebrate it, and maybe even pretend their dead for a day to see it is really not a big deal, and do anything BUT fear it, like most of us so easily chose to do. also, why would you want to into that unreal state? the truth is real, and i realize tha one truth is it is possible to go into that state, but i dont see the benefit or gain man, seek connectedness and awareness, that which is real is true, and objective, and understandable.
i dont think yo shoudl ever celebrate death, but isntead, spend every day celebrating life, for life is limited, death is infinite, undefined, and in my beleifs, tehre is noa fterlife. i try not to think about dfeath ebcause it is such a sad and depressing thing. also the reason you can never comprehend death is because death itself IS the lack of comprehension and mind. well at least thats waht i beleive as a pure athiest.
some spend their whole life in preparation of that one divine moment we call death. how well prepared are you?
well i think anythings possible, and i believe in infinity to a certain extent, just weird things that happen in my life are too strange to pass off as coincedence ya know? im not religious at all, but i think somethins up not all us humans really know about. i believe in spirits and such, i would give examples of these strange occurences, but you probably wouldnt believe me. its somethin you have to feel and experience for yourself to TRUELY know.
its these wierd occurances that lead poeple to beleiving in supernatural means of explination. according to my beleif. the problem is that humans desire human answers to their questions. what pure athiesm is about is that the world is NOT made for humans, it is not amde for anything for that matter, and so, there are some things that cannot be explained in human terms, and those that try often have moles in them, which is due to the human aspect, not the actual aspect. athieism is quite simply, depressing. no one wants depression, thats why people dont want atheism. thats why spirituality is the main form of atheism, or the increasing trend of not follwing a religion but still ebeliving in a higher being or purpose. its because people choose their beleif on waht suits them best, and waht will being tem the best life. atheism brings a large depressing side to most people whoarent used to thinkning that way, but when you trully get a grips with pure atheism, you see that everything in life is actually valued more, and that all religions and human-rationalisms do is devalue life and devalue the individual. but it makes poeple feel better.
im not talking about the pope having a weird experience wearing that funny getup of his, LOL.religion is a cop out for a lotta people i guess, its a really personal thing i think, spirituality.
do you KNOW that though, or do you just take someones word for it? i think its personal, you have to figure out on your own
Pure materialism is depressing; seeing the world and universe as a dumb machine is depressing. Atheism, though, is just saying "I don't believe in gods" it doesn't mean you have to see the world as cold and indifferent. I'm an atheist but I see great beauty and connectedness in the world. Quantum physics, a cold hard science, tells us that everything is relative to everything else, that is, things only exist in relation to everything else. The universe is one single system, a big relationship...one might say it's a single entity, the only real entity. That fuckin blows my mind...and notice there's no spirits, no god, nothing un-natural. You don't need that supernatural stuff to be spiritual and happy. Reality is far more amazing anyways. As far as death goes? Can't be anything bad, since everything living dies. It's the only sure thing in life, and though I can't say what it really is, what happens, if awareness continues, or what...I say there's no reason to fear it. But there's also no reason to celebrate it. That time will come soon enough and will last for eternity. I agree with whoever said to celebrate life.
Guys, this is the WEIRD as mother fucking thing about the universe u see, u say u cant possibly imagine anything unimaginable yes.. well then how did/do we know that we are alive in the universe in the first place. This is also the weird thing about how the universe started i mean how can it start from nothing? This must mean that to go beyond the mind is to reach another level perhaps a dimension in this universe as living consiousness may actually be a dimension. So death could simply be returning to a lesser state of being conscious of dimensions...or somthing like that. Also wen you say you die well reverse that and think wat if we are "dead" i mean being dead could be the real "alive" Being alive is simply a way for the universe to progress in some way or reach another higher level.
Man, I just had this idea...what if this higher state of consciousness is just like....one step of many. One of an infinite amount of steps, and you can go up or down. That's so fucking scary to me. The idea that there is no final higher state. Like what if you get there, become enlightened or whatever. It's cool, because you're used to your old state and this one is new and you're not used to it. But what if you get used to it, have a look around, and realize it sucks there too, because there's a level above THAT. And so on into infinity? If the Universe is infinite, maybe it's a fractal, with repeating patterns at all scales (spiral galaxies, spiral sea shells, seedheads on a flower all conforming to the Golden Ration, for example). Maybe this is how it is, and life would be forever drudgery, always looking at that next step...then, since the whole thing is repeating, looking up at the infinite stairway that you gotta climb. Maybe that is the true meaning of Samsara, in the Hindu view of it. The question is...does it ever end?
Well i dont think you would find it less interesting to go beyond the mind! To go beyond the mind is reaching another level of consciousness where you understand more about the sorrounding universe mabey even more then the universe itself, again its incomprehendable. At the moment im confused to think that there is a final step as i cant see how there could be one if everything comes from nothing, or mabey everything didnt come from nothing and wen we die we become aware of this again... a beginning must have an end and an end must have a beginning, mabey this thought is the "highest" level of awareness we have of the universe as humen beings...And mabey the universe is tryng to progress to a living level of consiouness that can see beyond that and perhaps manipulate itself to progress..
we cant have ideas about things we dont have ideas about, for example, life on pluto, or planets beyond our knowing. and dude, i doubt that "pure state of enlightenment where you are one with the universe and the great light sucks", lol
Jack London said something like that: "The proper function of man is to live, not to exist. I shall not waste my days in trying to prolong them. I shall use my time."
