OK I just took an Ept like 5 minutes ago and you have the one line on the left that says its working and that ones dark then the place where the other line is suppose to show up has a line but its really light...but there is a line that wasnt there before. I havent started my period in 2 weeks. So im confused...there wouldnt be a line at all if I wasnt pregnant right. There are clearly 2 parallel lines but one is really light.
It depends; sometimes that second window will have a light line, that's not really pink (or whatever color), but a darker shade of white, if that makes sense, lol. That's happened to me when the test was negative, but it kind of scared me for a minute, lol; good rule of thumb, if the test is postitive, then the line will stay there (you know, sometimes the mom-to-be has this crazy idea that everyone she knows wants to see the pee stick, lol); if it is negative, it will fade back to nothing as it dries. In other words, take a deep breath, and check it again in about 2 minutes; the package says something like best results in about 10 minutes, i guess that leaves time for the test window to dry, lol.
I got two lines on one of those, and I was pregnant...one was really light and strangely-shaped. If your period is two weeks late, you're probably pregnant. Go to Planned Parenthood...they'll tell you for sure. The home-test kits are pretty faulty, from everything I've heard. good luck! alyce
You, my friend are "prego", PG, Bun in the Ov, etc!!!!! Congrats and get a job to support your little one. Thank you.
Let me take a wild guess and say this is your first time taking a prego test. My first time, uh well her first time, there were two lines and one was very very faint. She wasn't pregnant. The second scare, there were two very distinct dark lines, and uh, she was pregnant. And the third is to occur about an hour from now as soon as she gets here. I feel for you. Take a second one and see what the results are. Usually the lines are pretty clear if ya have something cookin'
Contrary to popular beleief the home test are VERY accurate! They are the same tests doctors use in their offices. However, you need to have enough HCG in your blood from the placenta to get a positive reading. Too many girls take the test too early, and then say "the tests are innaccurate" when actually it was simply taken too early. First Response the test which can tell you the earliest. Use FIRST morning urine, as it is higher in HCG as well as concentrated from being asleep all night. It is more expensive than some of the other tests but it is a bit more sensitive. If you are really pregnant, you will get a positive test (except in rare hormonal illnesses) with ALL tests eventually. You have to read the instructions. Often you willl get a line which is whiter than the background, this is just where the detector material is. If is has COLOR to it, it is probably positive. Do not read the test more than 30 minutes after you take it, that is where a lot of "false positives" happen. It really ISN'T a false positve as the test instructions TELL you not to read it after 30 minutes.
