Why wouldnt it be safe to do? You are getting all of the nutrients required and nuts are one of the main sources of food for animals. Go for it.

What do you mean by processed food? I often eat no processed food in a day, unless you count oils, spices and sauces like Tamari, by which I mean I often good meals with only whole foods. I don't see how that could be unsafe.

If you mean eat the foods in their natural states, like a raw diet, I'm not a raw foodist, but that works fine for many people.

Sure, it's safe and relatively natural (considering that's basically what our genetic ancestors eat). It's often called a raw food diet or a living food diet. Just do your research first. There are tons of recipes out there, and I recommend having a juicer and a dehydrator. I've been trying to eat more raw/fresh foods in the past few months... it's hard to give up cooked food!

Well yeah, you can eat or not eat any kind of food for just the one day and won't harm you (unless it's laced with cyanide or something - which I'm assuming you wouldn't).

Short term 'detox diets/plans' are all the rage apparent. A more long long term measure would be taking up a raw food diet (google is your friend). People do it all the time and thrive.

In the grand scheme of things thats got to be better than a lifetime of food stuffed full of additives and crap like that.

Practically every day. But what do you mean? I rarely eat processed foods, except sometimes sauces and such or corn chips. Or do you mean raw foods? I go days without cooking and just eating raw fruits, veggies, nuts, etc. Sometimes I might steam them for just a few minutes but not actually cook them. Most of my diet is from fresh foods, though I do cook frequently.

The real question is, is it safe to not eat 100% natural whole foods?
87% of food on grocery store shelves today contain known carcinogens.

Theres more to raw foods than produce and nuts too. Check out rawfood.com sometime and look at some of the fun exotic raw foods, and packaged whole foods they have. My personal favorite= raw cacao beans(chocolate).

it helps to have a guide-map when your trying to eat natural and do it right. theres a lot of confusion out there about eating right and what actually is right.

heres a universal truth when it comes to nutrition: no one diet fits all. everyone is gonna need different things at different times that suit their unique metabolism, body type, and genetic pre-disposition. plus everyone has grown up eating diff. things and people have unique deficiencies and unique excesses.

heres another profound dietary truth: all animals in nature eat un-cooked raw food. all humans and domesticated animals eat cooked processed food and many of them have a> cancer b>diabetes c> an illness of some sort d> depression or e> for etc...there is probably a connection.

i really recommend the sunfood diet success system by david wolfe which is on rawfood.com or amazon.com for a lot cheaper used.

you can easily get the right proteins from seeds and nuts. hemp seed, flax, and sunflower are all complete protein...plus hemp and flax have omega 3 so you took care of your really good fats right there too. spirulina is a great source of protein too, which is found @ most health food stores. figure out which works best for you and then stick with that...i find seeds work better than nuts for me, and spirulina works great for my body type too, so i do more of that than i do nuts.

vitamins are so abundant in fresh produce that its impossible to miss them. theres more vitamins in nature than any human could ever possibly need. trust nature, it will take better care of you than you can imagine...and you will feel the difference eventually

    good luck : )

    because processing took them OUT.
there are exceptions. I get calcium added orange juice, for example.

Can you actually find an orange juice with calcium that does not contain vitamin D3, which is a D vitamin taken from animals? I cannot seem to find one around here.

Yes, but do you know where they are getting those vitamins and proteins? If you are eating fresh foods then there is little question where you are getting your vitamins and proteins.

I didn't notice D in the mixture I have... I'll check and either give you the name or scratch one more item off my list!

Ok, Minute Maid, FROZEN, or in the single serve bottles does not have vit D at all.
D is in the refrigerated cartons and jugs (I'm betting this is a stability issue, off the top of my head).

Thank you. I have not checked frozen or single serving bottles as I usually buy my orange juice in jugs.

    I can't afford jugs!
I grew up on frozen, and when fresh fruit is high, I resort to it again.
