Back when the Blackhawk incident happened Americans still remembered Vietnam. And when we saw our soldier's body dragged around town for a cause that most American's were not familiar with, it was politically strategic to withdraw. Too bad we are willing to sacrifice our youth today for something that is even more questionable.

 

I doubt they ever get the opportunity to forget.

Actually I wasn't referring to our strike on Somalia, but I do question it's motives. We haven't landed ground troops there, yet. I was referring to sending our children to the middle east to fight a battle for oil, based on lies..

 

I still as of today have not seen validated statistics on the number of civilian casualties in Somalia or verification that we hit our target any better and took out enemy combatants better than we did when Clinton bombed the phamacutical company in the Sudan and killed a janitor, during his impeachment hearing.

if you won't join up then i can only understand that there is a problem, you say the war is necesssary but personally won't touch it with a barge pole. this is known as hypocrisy and to base your arguments on hypocrisy makes your argument/debate weak.

Well Lodui, since you take this so lightly, i'd like you to know that our government is actually funding and helping the same people who dragged our own soldiers through the streets. Yes, they are on our governments side now, and the opposing side who wants a free nation and a democratic government is being attacked and murdered by our government. Let me state that again, our government is funding and helping the same somolians who killed our troops in the 1990s!
