Im currently doing a class through Brown University on amphedamines and we are to do research to find someone trumping up the use of meth and other such drugs. Does anyone know where I could find such material or does anyone have anything to say on the subject that could be considered positive.

The only effective use has been the military.I'm not going to call that a good use though.Any good done for weight control has been far outweighed by the negative effects. It's just trash and anybody that defends it is just spouting shit.

My boyfriend told me you are more likely to recover from a heroin addiction than a meth one. Anybody know if that's true?

I 100% agree with Jonsey_Babe...not only does it ruin the person's life, but it ruins the lives of those around him or her, as well. My mom was hooked on meth for so long, didn't realize it at the time, but she had mood swings and got violent pretty frequently, among other things. She eventually died of a meth overdose a little over four years ago now. Thanks to meth (and her weakness to drug addiction), my little sister doesn't have a mother anymore. Anyone who does this is just plain selfish and inconsiderate. They don't realize what it's doing to them and those around them. There isn't any positive effects of this drug...I think you're fighting a lost cause.

Meth and crack took my life away for a long. I had a stroke smoking it. it took all my money( I was making 80K a year) . i lost my house. I quit my job before I lost it. I lost my wife. It made me someone that I never thought I would ever be. hey, i was lucky I had a stroke.

god had some plans for me.

Is it worse then the big H. couldn't tell ya, But what I will tell you is if you are doing more than smoking weed, you are killing your soul. This is coming from a man that partied hard for 30 years and it hit me hard in the back of the head.
After a while, it was not a party, I just did it becauce that's all I knew.

Not sure if that answered your question but I hope it put a dent in your mind.

    Peace.

    Hi Jc,

I haven't used meth since '75, yet I still have definite opinions based on my experience with the drug.

First, meth is very effective in combating exhaustion.

If ever you find yourself in an exhausting situation where you must absolutely carry-on, meth is a very helpful tool.

In that situation, meth is the most effective drug in my experience.

However, the side effects are very pronounced.

The next day, and probably the following day as well, your entire nervous system will feel worn-out.

Also, your stomach may feel a little upset, and your jaw muscles a little sore.

Pschologically, meth will tremendously increase ones confidence, ones assertiveness, and ones ability to communicate.

If one is a miserable introvert who has never experienced a sense of confidence or assertiveness in their life before, they may, with meth, find themselves, for the first time, feeling truely alive.

Sexually, meth increases assertive male sexual energy.

All this could, for those lacking, lead to a dangerous psychological addiction.

Self knowledge and self discipline is a definite prerequisite for using such a powerful tool.

In other words, meth is best used by those who are not necessarily attracted to it, and who would rarely need it to begin with.

well m6m, the only thing you and I have in common is the same date of birth.June 6.

that said, you are fffucked up as to your view on meth. First, meth is not the same animal it was in 1975 and second you are fucked up. Now I say that with love in my heart, but one more thing, you are fucking nuts if you think a person can control then selfs as to meth,

If anyone reading this is thinking about trying meth or crack, it will steal your
everything you own. Count on it.

Oh, one more thing m6m( I'll bet you thought I was going to say that you are fucked up) you are right.....good night.

i dont know very much about meth except seeing bits and pieces on the net, but m6m seemed to have some valid points. i have tried what i think is its weaker cousin from the descriptions adderall, which is very similar in the communicative open assertiv male energetic thing, but not nearly as addictive.

this was insufflated though, i did have a small urge and a little fry feeling the next day, but i wouldnt call it addiction, although i see the potential. so if your going to mess with it, maybe you can try snorting adderall first as i think its a lot like it, but a very weaker version, which is good when were talking about things like this.

self discipline and knowledge and moderation are key here i think.

Well I would like to thank everyone that contributed to the discussion. I did not mention before because, well i don't know, any way I am a recovering addict, I know that there is no future in any drugs as far as I'm concerned. They cost me 3 years of my freedom and who knows about the long term effect. As far as the question about Heroin, I was a heroin addict but I usually mixed it with my speed. I still think these damn cigerettes are the hardests thing to kick.

well thank you again, you have all been very helpful, in confirming that meth has absolutely no good qualities.
    sincerely JC

Bull fucking shit.Sorry bud but this stuff is crap.I grew up in the 60's hearing speed kills. This was the hippies and freaks talking.Don't even think about it.You can do it for a month straight and become hooked over night or you can get hooked right away. All it does is keep you awake and make you work harder temperarly. The bosses love it,when you burn out you're gone.

Weaklings who would become addicted to something like meth are unfortunates who also tend to be unreliable, hysterical, and not the kind that I want next to me in a tough situation.

If you're gonna fight some cops, meth is really good for that.

And you can make a lot of money selling it.

See, there's a bright side to everything.

meth/crank/speed/tweak/tina/shit what ever yuo wanna call it, is pure evil. Iwas in a downard spiral last year because of it, I even considerd suicide because my mind was so fucked up. You dont even realize how quickly it grabs you. the high wasnt very good to me but once you start its an endless cycle. You never seem to get enough. I stll have mad cravings and still hit it every once inawhile (against my better judgment). I wish i could say im completly over it but its impossible once you have the taste it has a hold on you. Ive done almost every drug san heroine and i've never been so addicted in my life. I gotta say though if it wasnt for marijuana I would still be a heavy user. I have tried everything in my power to keep anyone who wants to try it to think twice because once you start you will always have it somewhere deep down inside a desire to use.

hehe....that's true. I never did know why it makes your teeth fall out though.
I've know enough meth heads to detour me from using it more than maybe a hanful of times. I like my teeth, thank you;)
Btw, there was this guy on the Montell Williams show recently that was a former meth addict and the guy could'nt keep himself still for even a few seconds. His central nervous system was bonkers!
