Insane Jester went off to War~

I don't know how many of you are aware that Insane Jester shipped out to Boot Camp On January 4th.
I had been talking to him a lot about his decision to go and tried to talk him out of it.
But after talking to him at length he won his point.
No matter what you think of him and what your experiences were with him on here.
I'm asking you to say a prayer once in awhile that he returns safe and well so that he can come back and push our buttons.
I got to know him and have had some really good conversations that I will never forget.

he's a sharp mind and a good man. even if he is occaisionally a complete dick. which is part of his charm. i hope he comes back okay, not too stressed, and enlightened. though i don't worry on that account, sharp minds tend to learn, especially when they get over stubborness. but honestly, the stubborn ones are usually the ones who make it through life okay. like that saying goes, today's mighty oak was once just a little nut that held it's ground.

 

I always liked IJ, mostly because of his blunt honesty. I hope all is well for him and that he can come home safely.

In which branch did he enlist? I was in the Army for a whopping four months before I was discharged for purposely failing a piss test. If that didn't happen, I would be in Iraq or some shit by now. At least it was fun shooting the guns and rocket launchers and throwing hand grenades and shit in basic training, so Jester is probably having a ball with that.

 

my little sis is graduating her seabee training on the 24th of this month. she's certified on all sorts of heavy machinery, including tanks. i'm terrified.

I believe that IJ wants a challenge and a change of scenery. I sincerely hope he finds fulfillment in his upcoming experiences and that he, as well as the other servicemen and women come back safely.

How does a person "gain knowledge" by killing people for a handful of corrupt assholes? I am not trying to be rude, I just don't understand how anyone could want to join the military to serve a corrupt system that cares nothing about them or the country they think they are serving. It's insane!

I'm glad he went to war. I hope he gives the enemy as much gusto as he gave the members of HF. At least he's making positive use of his personal conflicts! Death to the Taliban!
