How many languages does everyone speak? How many fluently, and how many at beginners level? Can you count in many languages? Or do most people just speak the one language? Im randomly curious. Im trying to learn a couple of new languages at the moment, but its surprisingly difficult. I only speak English and French fluently and a few at basic level. I wish i knew more

So all that hot French sweet-talking I was feeding you.... you had no idea what I was saying? You seemed to be getting pretty worked up, so I just assumed you understood me.
english... BAD broken up french. some even worst broken up portugese. And I could speak Afrikaans decently enough but it's fading completley out of my memory since I don't have anywhere to speak it now. I'm going to take some spanish lessons in the future though because I want to move to central america after university for a while.
English I can read French and German, speak them aloud with decent accents (ok, sometimes my German has a French accent, it's because I learnt it years before German). I can even understand other people from time to time, but not well. Very rusty on those two, and marginally better with French than German.
I speak Finnish and English fluenty, Swedish and German pretty fluenty, and I can get by in French and Spanish.
i'm only fluent in english. i was a dork and took french in school. there's NO ONE to practice that with, so it rusted into oblivion. i shoulda taken spanish. then i'd get all kinds of use out of it. i'd like to learn all sorts of languages, it really broadens your mind and your understanding of the world, as well as it's basic geography, really.
English of course, a bit of Spanish, and ASL (American Sign Language) Although my asl is getting rusty - I haven't needed to use it in years.
Fluent in English, Spanish, Russian, and Hebrew. Can get by on anything else they speak in Europe. Know beginner Japanese.
I'm fluent in both english and french, spoken and written. I'd love to learn Mandarin one day, that's a cool language.
