Hey im just moving back home and my room here is alot smaller than it ever has been before... i don't have tons of space, but i do have tons of CDs and DVDs. Any cool/unique ways of storing them? (rather than buying a CD rack:p)
    thanks

those books are always a good option...or you can use the car visor mounts...kind of a pain butthey work almost as well...but I really recomend those books..cheap, space efficent, and you can get some cool designs.

yeah i like to take care of my cds and keep them in their cases.

i was thinking of constructing some kind of wooden rack on felt etc that i could slide from underneath my bed...

My CD's are as adequately protected in their "books" as yours are in your cases. I use the ones that hold 250 CD's each. I have 3 full at the moment, all are backed up on a 250G hard drive which is, in turn, mirrored.

I have a LOT of taper friends, and they have found these wood-look plastic drawers. The drawers stack, and can be rearranged quickly and I think there is a labeling spot (could be an add on).
I'd look at places like the Lillian Vernon cataloge for them. That cataloge is cheap, but I'm sure audiophile cataloges would have them too.
I had drawers, six, for cassettes at one point and I think I added some velcro dots to make the tower more stable (three seemed to be the magic number for stacking without help)

Salmon, some people just want to keep the cases and all the tray papers with the discs. I was always fanatical about how my vinyl was placed back in the sleeve.

I actually don't know the tapers' reasons for keeping theirs in jewel cases. We were always told to bnp in sleeves as the cases can crack in transit.
