I've quit smoking and now cant sleep!!! It's driving me mad!

I have suffered from insomnia in the past so know when thats what it is, ive been told that quitting smoking can cause insomnia due to the body reacting to nicotene withdrawal? Is this true?

If anyone else has had the same problem, how long does it last?

Tried all the usual methods for helping to go to sleep... hot relaxing bath, massage, reading a book, even tried half a temazepam which i had from docs a while ago and that didnt even knock me out! :$

    HELP!!!! haha

The nicotine relieves stress, and qutting that at once on top of preexisting sleep problems will cause stress which can make it hard to sleep.

It's partially psycological too. Your probably thinking about wanting to smoke as you go to bed.

Try to eat a bannana and some yogurt about two hours before you go to bed, then do some moderate exercise, then think about some things you'd like to do tommrow, write them down, and then take a bath.

Before you go to bed, sit and relax, and read over what you've got planned, and if anythings worrying you too much, and doesn't have to be as soon as you get up, think about it later.

    'Luck.
