Hello all you green growers out there. I see you have a rather active board here with some good information available. I've been growing for years now and specialize in the scrog method. Here's a pic of a recent grow I'm into at the moment. This is two White Widows from seed. Normally I would be using the all powerful flowering clones but I needed to start a new generation of Widow. I expect less from this grow than the clones but next grow will produce well. I am planning on one plant, one light, hydro, one pound. Should be a peice of cake. My buddy at another site doesnt scrog......and he gets up to 14oz per plant with and nft system. I have yet to try that. It is a bit tricky and sensative but man does it grow the dope. You all take care. gm714

Thanks for the welcome Lumpy. Its not really vegging them for the pound. Its vegging them to fill the screen. My screen measures approx. 3x3 ft. Believe me, once this space is filled a pound will come forth...lol. The time it takes? That depends on your lamp, growing system used, environmental issues, ect... It doesnt take long though with healthy plants. I think my last large scrog vegged about a month before flowering. tc gm714

A scrog is simply a method of growing that uses a screen to control the growth of the plant. I preach control of the plant as much as control of the environment because without one or the other a grow is out of control and we dont want that to ever happen.

The screen is set in place and the plant is trained to grow underneath it until a desired amount of space is filled. Then the plant is forced into flowering. This is the critical stage. Training of the branches continues until the stretch has stopped or is very close to stopping. What you will form is a large MAT. Now they can be left alone to grow and will usually extend another 6inches further which is fine. What you will have exposed to the light is pure bud. No wasted light and no immature buds like you would have in a normal stand up grow.

Ive posted some pics of a bubbler scrog I did last year. It got a bit messy and overcrowded. Since I have started using less plants and learned that less is more. Scroggin is a great way to grow and I try to make the best of it. tc gm714
