What is the pricing ratio some of you use for your goods?

For me it kind of depends on what I'm making, it's not really consistant. I take into account, of course, how long it takes me to create what I have, but also keep in mind the materials used.

As far as materials used, it's not just how much I've personally paid for the actual raw materials, but also the quality of materials as well. For my knits, for example, if I were to knit 2 scarves exactly the same way, and the yarn for it was exactly the same price, but one scarf was 100% acrylic but the other contained some wool, the one with wool I'd price a bit higher than the acrylic, because wool itself (or anything natural fibered) is just a better quality, it'll last longer, and the end product often feels and looks a bit better, even after a bit of wear.

If you're trying to figure it out for yourself, it's kind of tricky. But keep in mind that most people would realize that handmade items not only take time to make, but are often a better quality, so they won't mind paying a bit extra. Don't cheat yourself on certain expenses and your time just because you think that someone won't pay for the work you did!

If you were to work as a crafts/trade person in a factory or somethin it would pay $10 ph. Tally up the hrs you have put into a project and thats a good rough estimate, with the exception of pricey materials......

I feel like I am honestly terrible at pricing my stuff! I got into the habit of letting it go dirt cheap cuz I needed the money but now I am trying to make sure I am always fair to myself and consider the time i put into the things I make..
There is nothing worse than spending a week making something that you think is the most beautiful thing ever n you cant even get rid of it for $5....tragic!
Its also a burden being addicted to expensive fabrics! haha I sometimes seem to forget to factor that in when pricing my stuff!
    : )

supermommy, your stuff is amazing, and anyone can see that it is good quality.
I can remember that pink and green dress with the dove, i must have bid like $80 for it or close to, and someone still out bid me.

here in the UK those dresses would do so well. youd expect to see them for at least that!!
