Your're not the only 1, I mean this is a hippie forum mate, so most people here are pretty liberal, but I mean if I asked people in my school or anyone I know, it would be a 50/50 poll between Bush and kerry.

War is peace. Freedom is slavery. Ignorance is strength.

Funny how people write scary ass books about it, but now that people are actually saying this shit for real no one seems to notice.

Just because the streets aren't dark and green things still grow doesn't mean shit isn't happening.

Actually I'd say the majority of the people at my school like Bush. But that could just be because they are dumbasses who don't even know the difference between liberal and conservative. Most of them don't even care either way and just go with whatever their friends/parents/etc say. And I'm not saying all of them are like that, just a large majority of the ones I know.
But personally I think Bush is a dick and although I'm not a huge Kerry fan either, I'd choose him over Bush anytime.

Most of the people at my school like Kerry, mainly because they were raised democrat. That's how most people vote, how they were raised. I was raised republican but would probably vote liberatrian.

I don't particularly like Kerry, but I absolutely fear and despise Bush.

It sucks that I'm forced to vote for the lesser of two evils, but I will not throw away my vote on a third party this time.

If you ask me, the Republican and Democrat parties should both be outlawed.

    But no one asked me.

About the youth of America, you all should read the lastest issue of time. It has a great article about the growing trend of college students toward the right. It actually suprised me that most college students are turning against taxing the rich and most wanted to be "very well off" later in thier lives.

why should this surprise you? pop-culture is all about the 'bling bling' nowadays. The media blasts people's minds with everything they can to suggest that wealth should be the ultimate goal in life, the true measurement of success. Ok, and lets look at most college students. College is increasingly becoming a priviledge of the rich, tuitions have sky-rocketed in the past two decades. So, these kids hear their wealthy parents bitch about taxes. Hence, they follow along with their parent's beliefs. If you are suprised by this trend in any way what so ever, you are truly uniformed. It's pretty damn obvious why a majority of college students align themselves towards the right.

That's what scholarships are for. Ever heard of finiacial aid? Universities have always been known as liberal. Hell some schools ridicule conservatives.

I'm saying the trend is changing. Financial aide wasn't as scary of a prospect years ago because the cost of education was cheaper relative to what it is today. It is 100% fact that education is becoming more difficult to afford nowadays than ten years ago - hence a larger percentage of students come from wealthy conservative families.

It depends on the school, where it is in the country, etc. I'm sure Uinversity of Texas is pretty damn conservative. Florida is pretty balanced, with the exception of New College, an uber-liberal honers college. I'm sure Massatusets is quite liberal. Christian colleges are pretty conservative. You can't make a generalization that "these college kids are so ______ these days".

I have found among high school students in my school that the people who don't give a crap about politics are pro-Bush. But then, I'm coming from a Catholic school. . .

Oh, and the price of colleges varies geograhpically as well. In Florida the state pays 3/4ths of college tuition for anyone who gets all Bs. And political views are not nessicarily dictated by financial status, as there are Republicans in trailer parks, and I once went out with a guy from a democratic backround who's dad was a lawer with his own wine vinyard.

Actually, It is quite the opposite. UT here at Austin (the main campus) is very liberal, and Austin enjoys a nice liberal reputation because of it. Austin is a great city, although I would never live anywhere else in Texas.

I personally think this a wind up that someone is pretending to be a 15 year old American.

so far ive noticed that most of the people around my age hate bush and say that he lies and the war is for oil and all this other stuff

    STUFF?

im not left wing or right but personly i think bush isnt doing that bad of a job no one likes war but look at it in a good way people at lest people are free from an evil dictator who killed thousends of his own people

Not left wing or right wing just like Fox news?

i also think bush is the lesser of the evils i think kerry will let the country go to hell.

    EVIL?

sorry i started ranting..what i realy want to say is that most of the youth dont realy understand and are looking for some thing to rebel against.

First he fucking apologises for ranting then puts the theme music on to ‘rebel without a cause’ good I can just smell the apple pie in the background.

    **

But hey if you really are an 15 and American, get out a bit more, open your eyes and read find out what that other STUFF was and if it makes sense. Stop thinking in terms of EVIL and put together a coherent argument. Ask yours what your politics is?

Above all don’t come out with platitudes like "we make war so we may have peace" you’ll just sound like a prat.

    So please stick around.
