I am going to the public library tomorrow to stock up on my media supplies for the week. I get videos, books, CD's, and magzines. My favorite magazines are: Psychology Today The Sun Utne Magazine People Entertainment Weekly (Keep up on movie reviews) Health Body and Soul What are your favorite magazines? I am looking for some new suggestions for good reading.?
The only magazines I read are..... High Times (and the like) Guitar Pro Rolling Stone, and other rock/muisc mags Truckin, Sport Truckin, Mini Truckin (I like to build Lowrider Trucks) Car and driver (and the like) And of course, Playboy Not too sure how appealing those would be to you though.
Oh, man...I am such a magazine junkie. My subscriptions got so out of control that I couldn't remember how many I had. I have weeded a few out now but here goes: The Sun (amazing, I'm surbscribing for life, if I can) Sagewoman (a thoughtful, goddess-oriented magazine for and by women) Smithsonian (a beautiful combination of art, history, and current international culture) American Heritage (letting this subscription go, it's too senior-oriented for me) National Geographic Traveller Budget Travel (which isn't about true budget travel but I still enjoy it) Time Out Chicago (necessary for my urban existance) I used to get Writer's Digest, Poets & Writers, Poetry, Oxygen, Elle Decor but I don't get those anymore for various reasons. I'm always interested to find out about unique publicatiions. If anybody knows of anything, especially literary based publications like the Sun, I'd like to hear about it.
I like People Magazine, and am proud of it. It has articles about the whole spectrum of humanity. Many different kinds of People are applauded and recognized for their heroism and outstanding qualities, there are updates of crime situations (so we stay on guard against crime.lol ), nods for good samaritans, info on all the movies, books, music, info on all the stars in our favorite films. I don't like the recent perfume they have allowed to stink their pages, but will still read it, if it doesn't make me pass out. There was a time when I hid it on the bottom of my selections at the library, letting other more intellectually prestigious magazines impress the people looking over my shoulder. Now, I don't let that make me feel guilty, I am proud that I have such a broad interest in so many different publications, and now check out People with great pride. lol
