What books speak Peace and Love to YOU? Wow! I am relatively new to this site and I have appreciated the opportunity to discuss the mystical concepts of a hippie. The Hip Forum is obviously multidimensional and not without conflict. Recently I came across a vile, hate filled, bigoted rant. It is impossible for me to look at the events in the word today without feeling anger but I have learned to temper my anger with peace and love. Oddly these attitudes came to me indirectly as the direct focus of our society is conformity, competition, and consumerism. Peace and love are not subjects our social institution dwells on so the concepts that give voice to my intuition come from “other” sources…mainly family and community. But there have also been a few books that have profoundly influenced my thinking…books that were conceived and written with peace and love in the heart of the authors. A few of the books that have profoundly influenced my thinking are: The Whole Earth Catalogue The Way of Zen Be Here Now Flight of the Eagle Politics of Ecstasy Education and Ecstasy I Ching Workbook Practices and Principles of Plant Propagation A Pattern Language Steps to an Ecology of Mind ....to name a few! What books speak Peace and Love to YOU?
