I don't really consider myself a songwriter but i've writen a few songs. here's one that i think worked really well with my band, and i wonder what you all think of it? (maybe this should be in the poetry or music section i don't know...) This one's kinda cool, becouse sometimes we play this one like a really old louisiana blues song, and sometimes we play this a full blown Rock song. work etherway Don't leave me hanging I really wish you were here But you're nowhere to be found I'm down on my knees Down on the ground I'ma losing my mind and i'm staring at you blind No persone alive Would turn down love of this kind }break/bridge/intermetzo etcs:guitar:{ ]Don't leave me hanging Don't leave me hanging like this Don't leave me hangin You may not believe But you can not dissmiss The moment we felt As we touched and we kissed All these guys that you had They just couldn't care less but i'm not like the rest And i'll always do my best if you... ]Don't leave me hanging }solo{ - Don't leave me hangin Don't leave me hanging like this Don't leave me hangin :hang: Thank's for reading, so whatcha think, no gloves...i can take it
Honey, you know I'm your biggest fan.. and i love your work... these lyrics are to the point with out being overly-simplistic..with feeling, but not overly sensitive or emotional...and the main idea is carried out well through out the piece, with out being too repetitive... good job Love! two enthusiastic thumbs up!
Hey Neo, Lyrically the words work well with both styles of music. A question. Do you come up with the words first, or after you compose the music...or simultaneously? Reason I ask is I have written works that I had in mind for songs but not actually worked any music in, because i don't compose. Just for kicks...if I drop one work in here give it a go and let me know if its worthy of a tune. I could use the feedback on if the meter and such is spot on, and if it is rightfor vocals. That is another thing too, I haven't got to the point of what style singer I would want to write for which I imagine would be the way to go when songwriting. 8I
Neo-hippie, I think it is very open-minded of you to write a song about the death of Saddam Hussein, but I think that you will need to interject some more vitality into your lyrics, especially about the life/regeneration thing. Also, for dramatic effect when you sing the line... "I'm down on my knees..." I want you to practice skidding across the floor with the axe in yor hands plucking the strings till the fingers bleed. This will be awesome, especially if you can PUMP some of the words, especially the word kneeeees! In Germany they have lederhosen and it would be very gut if you could get something similar there, but you must be careful of the dreaded carpet-burn, which is a widespread symptom of lasses from east Manchester (especially once you've fed them a pizza). I would have suggested having a midget in your video as well because they bring good luck, but that is taboo and no longer politically correct to mention, because it upsets the forum Pharasees! What inspired you to write about executed dictators anyway? It's a very original art form.
 haha thanks people, you are fantastic! Amazing, the power of suggestion, or how something actual could change the meaning or subjects so much. At first, there was the line "Don't leave me Hanging" as in, my other guitarist is always high 5ing everyone, all the time, up to the point where it gets a little irritating, but this is funny in way, he can't help it So he was holding his hand up !Again! and we were looking at him like; "no dude, not now, not again!" and i could hear him think, Don't leave me hanging. So i was fooling around with that for a while. coming up with a bass line and a riff. on the other hand there was a girl, (once) a very good friend of mine, like a soul mate. we go way back, we know good times & bad times, always helping each other out and such. but we sortha drifted apart for long while, and i had no way to reach her, and she hardly ever tried to contact me, and i really needed her to. I was feeling a bit (read; Very) depressed, and i was like "Don't leave me hanging!" i helped her out when she had problems, and now would have been a good to to return some favors. So there it started to slowly morph into an actual hanging. But really it's a song about love, about friendship, about a need for contact. Saddam was never on my mind, i asure you, but it a very funny find! And really...Lederhosen!?!... I mean Really!? ...not my idea of very rock 'n roll:H Thanks For the replies every one! many thanks to ya Peace!
