Does anyone disagree with this statement? I know a lot of people agree, but I would like to hear from the opposite side of the spectrum.

There have been many worse, James Buchanan, Andrew Jackson, Ulysses Grant, Benjamin Harrison, Millard Fillmore, though each have their own reasons and circumstances on why they weren't great at being president, and even some that are are still terrible, Wilson for example, personally he was a horribly racist person.

    Reagan, Hands Down!

I can't possibly write out all the shit he smeared.

Only reason America voted him the greatest American is because he's seen as the man who destroyed communism, this is untrue.

Gorbachev himself destroyed communism, he destroyed the eastern block, and he tried to make the Soviet Union into a Social Democracy.

This is what Reagan did for America, he quadrupled the U.S. debt in only 5 years from what it was. Started a war with Grenada. Supported a ruthless government in Nicaragua ( and called the Nicaraguan resistence Communist terrorists ) and among other things was clearly a tool since the few times he spoke in public without notes he said something that didn't make sense, something that everyone knew or something stupid such as the time when he said " trees make more pollution than cars ", and no he wasn't joking.

P.S. He also ignored AIDS until mid 1985 when the virus was already spread out.

Is that because he was quoted at the beginning of Birth Of A Nation?

Common, it was the early 1900s, racism was as common as ice cream, wait, it was more common, ice cream wasn't as easy to make back then.

That's one example, another could be how he let cabinet members to allow offical segregation in many federal government offices for the 1st time since the 1860's

Like I said, early 1900s, hell up until the past decade blacks were labeled the black sheep.

Don't forget that the South is still terribly racist ( Alabama, Georgia, Texas etc )

Not saying racism is good, just saying that in Wilson's time, had he not be racist he wouldn't have been re-elected.

Wilson was also extremely sexist..he was the president that refused to grant women the right to vote despite overwhelming support for the sufferagettes by the general populace.

He didn't cave until the media blasted his reputation into oblivian.

I believe that exact description was used to describe all the presidents in the late 60s and 70s.

Don't kid yourself, there is always someone more incompetent, more racist, and more shady than the current guy waiting in the wings.

Bush may not be the worst President in history, but I think Cheney wins the award outright for the most evil Vice President.
