Well, let's start with some specifics. What have you given up on, and why?

truthfully i'm sure there are alot of people out there that are going through simular problems..someone might help you and be able to relate to your situation..it helps to talk.. i've been through some shit too and i'm here if you ever need to talk

Drinking may only make it worse. Only a temporary fix that will probably only promote more of a giving up attitude. I've seen too many friends go down that road and it's not pretty.

Don't give up on anything. Especially important things like the ones you mentioned.

Don't give up on school. You get through that, and you'll have a better chance of taking care of the other two.

I stumbled across your other thread, the one titled "Dear Old Dad", and now it's in perspective.

Do you have anybody else to talk to outside this forum? Friends? Other relatives? How easily can you talk to your mom about this? Being able to lean on someone else is half the solution. Posting to HF is a good start. The people here are nice and caring, as my experience shows, and we'll be able to listen to anything you have to say. But you really should seek out someone in the flesh too. Going it alone can very easily give you those feelings of "giving up".

Again, don't give up on school. Don't let your dad take that away from you.

yes it will cause you to be more depressed, discouraged, and burn the sweet little brain cells you have.... take care of your body and mind... then you will overcome it.

    things will get more promising.

No, it won't necessarily fix the problem, but it's better than not talking to anyone about it. If you keep things bottle up inside, it can hurt you in the long run.
