Has anyone seen this show? Dweezil Zappa is on tour playing Frank's material. It's the closest you can get to live Frank Zappa. Apparently Steve Vai is a guest performer on it. I don't know if he's on the whole tour or just part of it. I bought a ticket for the show in St Louis here in a week. That will be fun, finish up my Philosophy final and then drive across the state for the show, and then halfway back to go home. It's gonna be amazing though, I know.

If you've been, how was it?

I'm going on the 22nd. I'm excited. I got to see Frank back in the day. And I think Steve Vai is on the whole tour. Let me know how you like the show!

My friend went and he ended up fainting and going into this crazy thing. But my other friend saw it and he said it was good, except for at the end there is a massive shredfest. Kind of expected with Vai in the show, but i remember him saying it was on Peaches and that just ruined it, kinda like them takin a giant dump on the song.

Alright, I've been away from the forums since I saw this show, but now I'm back to school and fast internet. The show was fucking amazing, there was so much shit going on. Two percussionists plus a guest one (who was in like a sphere of drums and cymbals) two saxophones, etc. I think I counted ten people when everyone was all at once. I don't remember all the songs they played, but there was Montana, Slime From the TV Set, and Don't You Eat the Yellow Snow. It was a great show. Most of the time, the singer sounded damn like Frank. Then afterwards I bought some hash from a homeless guy. It's not the best, it's more like super compressed brick weed, but it gets me high and it's a cool story so fuck it.

That's all I got right now.

    Forgot about this thread.

The show just rocked. Having seen ole Frank back in the day (and from the third row - yes, I'm gloating), I think Dweezil and company did a marvelous job.

The drummer you're speaking of is Terry Bozzio, who played with Frank.

Dweezil did mention the mud shark song, being in Seattle and all. They didn't play it; though they did play "don't eat the yellow snow" for us! But, what made my day is that they played the song about the vegetables *forget the name* Rudabaaaga, Rudabaaaga, Rudabaaaga!
