Henna for skin?

I've tried to colour my skin with henna to get this beautiful signs on it, but it didn't work...So someone may help me and write like I have to use it and how long it has to stay on the skin befor washing it away? Thanks for help

Thanks, i got another recepi now. Hope it will colour my skin red and not longer orange...

 

Very good link and a nice reminder that I need to order some henna!

Never fully expect a deep red unless you're staining your palm. The henna I use is a nice red/orange/brown on the palm and a rich brown on other bits.
