Now, I'm a vegetarian, so don't think that I'm necessarily unjustly shitting on anyone's parade.

If you're a vegetarian, then don't get mad at people for eating meat, because it's not going to make them stop. Eating a certain way, whether it's stop eating meat or going on an all-chocolate diet, is a personal decision you make. If you start complaining because someone decides to eat a meaty burger, then the reaction you're going to get 100% of the time will be negative.

The best thing you can do is follow your own path. If you're a vegetarian, then fill your plate with tofu and carrots and leave it at that. Don't start freaking out at people because they don't think EXACTLY the way you do. It's always better to live life as an example rather than a loud mouth.

I agree ~ you can't flock a dead horse & you most definatly are not going to change a grown adult.
Also ,,there is some saying ,,, " never give advice ,,unless it is asked"
Lots of people try to cram info down peoples throat about this & that without having had that person ASK.
Now by all means if they ask for your opinion or ideas,,, answer them,,, but not until your opinion / advice is asked for.

BTW, have you wondered that being vegiterian is not natural? I mean, we're supposed to be omnivorous! We're supposed to eat fish and meat and veggies, godammit!

Kidding... :D eat whatever you want. Just don't think you are more hip cuz you don't eat meat.

I completley agree with your point, no one should be bothered about their eating habbits because it is a very personal thing...But as it is wrong for a vegetarian to bother meat eaters about their eating habbits it's also wrong for the constant abuse and explanations vegi's get by meat eaters...I for one have to give a detailed explanation for every single new person I eat with to "just why I would make a decision like this" And having anything I say be argued to the ground with the exact same points made everytime...Live and Let Live...

i agree. i hate when vegis complain that we get harrassed for our eating habits then turn around and give someone else shit for eating meat. The only time i'll say something to a non vegi about their diet is if theyve been harrassing me about mine. Other than that i dont believe in imposing my beliefs on anyone else. If asked i'll tell mine, i'll explain mine (i'll share not convert) and i expect the same from others.

That's right. Did you know if you are incarcerated and the jail/prison refuses to serve you your vegan plate you have grounds to sue the government ?

is there am impetus forthis post?
On the veg borad, I say its frereign to vent, but yes, IRL, the more you bitch, the harder you make it for the next veggie.

It's a diet of compassion or health (for the ones who tend to preach) and nattering is neither compasionate or good for anyone's health.
That said, with *industrialized* agriculture, dropping meat can have a net positive effect on the environmental scale, altho raise your own is a better option if one wants to continue being an omnivore.

by the way, quit telling everyone to knit :D

i don't think anyone has a right to tell another person what to eat... if ted bundy wants to make meatloaf out of someone, who has the right to tell them he can't?
