I live really close to DC so I know that it will probably be cold so dress warm.. even though the weather has been screwy lately. But I would bet on it.. Man I want to go so bad!! =(
man, i helped orgainsed one of thease things back when bush got back in office , over 2000 people came,
Looks like I'm probably gonna be able to go! Its so awesome that you guys travel all the way to DC for this.
if the ride comes through my wife and i will be there, if not, iam taking to the streets here in nc, either way iam protesting
Yo I am hoping on a train and riding up there from SC. But I have never been to a protest before, there some kind of advice thing I could read? How cold are we talking about here, what do you think I will need for the daytime? Know what kind of turn out to expect, how about police presence? Can I bring weed on a train? I have so many questions....Any Anarchists going to be there, I like those guys, any vandalism plans? Any advice would help
hey turn relax man sorry no anarchists, weed I doubt it and I wouldn't do it, like to though. it's a peace march no vandalism. I'm sure there is going to be police there. Honestly I haven't been to a large march but I've been to smaller ones though. I heard it's going to be about 45 degrees but that could change so bring a jacket. I think you have the wrong idea about this. Hope to see you there.
Ha just noticed you have the A in your avatar, oh well too bad. Also I am hoping to get some stencils and maybe some glass pipes. I sort of picture in my head a bit of a music festival type atmosphere, am I very far off?
Dress warmly. Bring extra clothing- maybe a change of shoes/socks in case you end up in wet snow/slush etc. Dry clothing- or at least dry footwear- will make a huge difference. Bring extras to share, if you can. I only attended two large protests in DC, the last in 1982. But I still remember the pain of being out in the extremely cold wind from dawn to dusk. Then a long bus ride on a bus with no heat. We ended up back in downtown Cincinnati in the middle of the night, with no car, no way home, and more cold wind. Back then there was a White Castle restaurant downtown, and we sought refuge there, and I still remember the hot cocoa relief. We caught the Metro (bus) home when the first bus appeared. Wish I could make it. I could possibly get off of work, but as ashamed as I am to say it, I just could not hack such winter exposure anymore. Back then we went camping in the snow, and with temps below zero, but those days are long over. I hope I don't discourage anyone from going. But be more than prepared for exposure to extreme cold and wind for a long period of time.
Saturday's high is suppose to be 48 degrees, that is pretty warm for January, and only a low of 31 degrees, there will be no extreme cold or wind this weekend in DC, So come out and support your country.
One more day until Sat. although I'm going on a bus from Detroit to D.C. tonight at 7pm, so hope to see you all there peace D
