I noticed that just recently... EVERY... and I repeat, EVERY baseball fan I have met in my LIFE has been at least a LIIIL wierd, but most of the time the shits full blown... It hit me when my professor was talkin and he just started ramblin' on some baseball shit outta nowhere cause I was wearin' a yankees hat - which had shit to do with math... but man, it hit me like a ton of bricks... He looks like the muthafucka off of shaw shank redemtion, he always looks mad, he slouches over, he has terrible posture and all that... but he's ALWAYS JUMPY, he MOVES like he's gotta dick shoved tightly in his ass, and he moves his head like a raptor.... WTF is up with these muthafuckas...?
^ beat me to it. But yeah, although my experience is limited to online, I've noticed there's always a qwerk about baseball fans. All the Americans I know offline hate it.
well.. 1) you're an idiot for wearing a yankees hat 2) refer to #1 3) baseball is america's pasttime sport 4) if you know all the ins and outs of baseball, even the smallest little rules, you'll ramble on all day about baseball no matter the time of year 5) its not as boring as it seems when you know things from #4 6) its only wierd to outsiders 7) make sure you re-read #1 again ...signed a Red Sox fan
From a fellow Red Sox fan... I understand the ins and outs of the sport- I do catch myself watching a relatively meaningless June game and not once did I say I was not weird!
I agree with the your an idiot for wearing the Yankees hat why rep a team of a sport you don't even like?
I never hear much about baseball, it's all hockey hockey hockey here in Canada. Do the Canadian baseball teams suck? Do we even have any? LoL.
I beg to differ When Daisuke ‘Dice K’ Matsuzaka takes the field (even during those meaningless games in June) it will be an event. Just like when Roger & Pedro took the field in their heydays Hotwater
yeah IM weird so what?????? and I like the redbirds, so what??? and I could talk endlessly about baseball, so what??? maybe I think basketball fans and football fans are weird...... and dont get me started on hockey fans
Well if baseball fans are weird then football fans are just dumb. And no other sport except college basketball matters in America.
baseball fans can be odd, but also loyal and mindful of details. I love the game, but can easily admit I am a bit weird. Im not much of a football fan - but I do enjoy a few brews while sitting at the park - a most pleasant way to spend a summer afternoon or evening.
heh, I admit, if I have a few beers, baseball is pretty fun. I went to a game with my gf last Sept. and I caught a foul ball. That increased the enjoyment A LOT.
oh yeah, when you are almost on the field, its so much better...... I was in royals stadium, and michael tucker threw a ball up in the stands, I was sitting next to the aisle, and the first row in the outfield..... he was trying to throw the ball to this kid in the aisle and it was right to me, I just reached out and grabbed it...... but then all these people around me said, aww man give it to the kid...... so I did, and they were shocked...... I was wearing cardinals gear..... I didnt want a ball that michael tucker (who played for the royals at the time) touched.... fuck that... the kid wanted/needed it more
I dont know why a few beers make it so much better, but it does! Good on you MC, that kid got a treasure he will hang on to memories of forever. Plus, its too tough to fight the peer pressure in that situation! And it aint like Tucker is Saddaharu Oh or anything lol Im guessing a person has a MUCH higher chance of getting a foul ball at a Royals game than a Cards game, so a return trip might get you another!
oh yeah, getting wasted in the parkinglot before going into the game is good, too I didnt catch a foul ball at royals stadium, it was tossed up into the stands by michael tucker after they were throwing the ball around in the outfield.....
i was at a red sox game. got tickets through the boys and girls club and a whole bunch of us from the club went. this was in 95 or 96, so a little over 10 years ago or so...when mike greenwell was still playing. so were there a bit early and they're throwing the ball around. mike tosses a ball up into the stands - i catch it. some 30-40 year old guy rips the ball out of my hand...fucking asshole
