Hey guys, I'm on a diet, and I have been eating extraordinarily strict vegetarian diet, for health and weight loss. Things are going great and I am starting to lose weight, I can see it in my face and chest, but I have one big problem..... THE MUNCHIES.

The only time I just really can’t control myself is when I have the munchies, I can seriously eat like an unstoppable force. Tonight I even ate a lot, but at least it was all healthy food, just way too much.

(1) Whole Wheat Bagel Toasted / Little bit of butter

(1) Fruit and Nut Granola Bar

(1) Small bowl of Special K cereal / 1% Milk

(2) Bottles of Water

I don't think I ate too too bad tonight but is there anyway I can curve that extreme hunger?

lol, i would always spend a few days eating healthy, then id get high and eat like a weeks ammount :D. dont prepare any munchies, by that i mean dont have any visible cuz the temptation will be intense. best to have it a far distance away, say ur in ur room, have all stuff in kitchen. also if you must, munch on carrots, grapes, appleas, all veggies and fruit, but not in excess. its also about having will, and strong mind. tame urself by saying no in ur head, and dont keep thinking about it, do something to take ur mind off it :/

id say tough it out or eat like healthy like you said you were. Or you could just eat whatever you want and go running for a while or do some other exercise to balance out all the eating. Congrats on losing wieght :)

thanks guys for the positive words. a couple other things I came up with included : having healthy food readily available with me and that's it, and smoking before eating a large healthy meal, so getting munchies before my actual meal instead of snacking.

i'm workin on it though =\
the munchies can be the best and worst at the same time. food never tastes as awesome as when you're totally blazed haha

I am the exact same way. But what I am doing is just eating a bunch of low calorie foods (like fruits and veggies) when I have the munchies. So I just a eat a bunch of them and only intake a small ammount (compared to how much volume of food I eat) of calories. I just continually snack on them, ussually slowly so I have the illusion of eating a lot when I am really just constantly nibbling on a carrot or w/e.

OH YO WISE CHEEZE DOODLES! Those are the shiznit! I have never noticed those on your sig before! Before I started dieting I was eating those like a madman. They are way better than any other processed cheese based snack, lol.

I find it helpful to eat a meal before I toke up (after dinner for example) or drink a lot of water/juice/milk before I toke up cos then my stomach is already full and so the munchies don't have such an effect cos I physically can't eat more or I'll feel sick.

I just listen to music and I soon forget I'm hungry. There's nothing like eating a whole bag of blue corn tostitos while listening to music though :D

Whoever said eat a meal before you smoke, that's a good idea, but I can't reallythink of anything else.

I'm a veggie, so i'm kindof in your same boat.

neways, i usually go for fruit, it has a high sugar content that helps with the munchies and dry mouth, plus lotsa vitamins and such.
If you aren't too concerned about carbs, pasta is usually the most filling. a nice bowl of spaghetti after a bowl or crippie is a good way to end a day.

Do a Hook and eat imaginary food (this may also produce the opposite of the desired effect). Then distract yourself with something else.

Fruit is good, too.

I'd lay off the Special K, too. Apparently it's not that healthy.

WTF?!?!? I cannot combat my munchies and it's driving me nuts. I have a pretty insane appetite to begin with, so my munchies are quite monumental. I'm almost to the point of writing DON'T EAT on my hands so when I reach for food I'll get the message. Hmf. Stupid munchies

I agree with eating before you smoke, that usually does it for me. Plus, eating a ton kills my high, so I often try to eat right before so that I don't get the munchies and eat my way back to being sober.

My only advice is to somehow get into a skinny persons body and eat while you got the munchies. Its the only possible diet I can think of , eat more eat more.

to combat munchies just say no. I know its retarded and no one should really "just say no" as the saying says. You should say no to eating when high because 1) you won't remember what you just ate, therefore thinking you ate nothing and 2) you don't want to eat a lot when sober so just transfer that feeling over.

I just say to myself if I see food "you don't need to eat, you've had enough."

Now if I haven't eaten a lot that day, then hell yea I'll pig out :p. It's all based on yourself though, learn something that works.
