Gee, this sure is a high brow disscussion! I hope paul and steve manage to resolve this amicably.
I recon that if hitler had of won the war it would have set us back a long way, because instead of the best people being selected for the job, people were selected on the basis of race, and political allegiance. Some very clever jews (amongst others) fled germany, like einstein, who later worked on the Atom Bomb project.
Interestingly the allied powers left facsists in power in spain, portugal and debatably greece after WW2 probably as they prefered them to commies. Facsism set those countries back a long way economically.
