I think we need to ask ourselves. What is more fun, helping them or attacking them? I think we'll all realize that attacking them is just more enjoyable.

helping is enjoyable, but so is attacking people at some times

also, you have to figure that theres already gonna be people who seriously answer the questions, so insult away

few, I was worried there for a minute... and you're right, at one point we were all like this I suppose... what's frustrating is 1) often the ppl who ask are kinda whiny about it, because in a way it sounds rather materialistic, and 2) the reaction is often bitter, like you said....

Yeah, like they don't know anything about it yet. They will learn after a while, but attacking them is like sending them to grade one, and when they don't know how to read well, the teacher yells at them. The people who have been here for years/live this lifestyle are the teachers for the newer people. It's important for you to share your wisdom with them and help them to understand who they are and such.

Seriously, I was never like that. Can anyone remember a post I've made in the time I've been here that was that immature? I was born a 17yr old hippy. For that matter, I can't ever remember some people being like that, dark(although a punk) was'nt really like that, not that I can remember. Some people like orsino are very young and still very mature.

Being a "hippy" isn't a process in my opinion. You can't dress someone in certain clothes, and you can't tell them how to think in order to be a "hippy". That would be like asking a "punk" how do I become a punk? What clothes do need to wear, What music do I need to like? Or a Christian, how do I become a Christian? What clothes should I not wear, what beleifs do I have to have? There is just so much more to it than that. Every label put on people is just that, it's a label. Even if there are young people out there who want to be "hippies", they still need to find their own way. I've never liked labels, and I've never fit into just one spot. I'm constantly building, and changing, and learning, and letting go, it's part of life. No one told me how to be a hippy, if that's what I am at this point in my life, when I went through my "punk phase" no one told me how to do that either. I've always searched for myself, and fortunately it has led me down a path full of like-mided people. That's really what it all boils down too, in my opinion.
