i have no clue if this is even possible but, i cannot play the tamborine. i can never get the beat right. sad thing is is that i play guitar and i somewhat play the drums. I have yet to master the tamborine.

if anyone feels my pain or wants to give me tip on playing said instrument, post away.

What do you mean when you said you can't master the tamborine? Have you got the rythm right on drums? Maybe you just need practice, I don't know...

it shouldnt be to difficult. i was able to pick it up quick, so im sure you should be able to as well.

perhaps take time and practice playing it to songs you know that have a tambourine. may help out.

In my experience very few people can play the tambourine, although a great many think they can. The tambourine is more difficult to master than other rhythm instruments because it does not produce a single sound on the beat but a sequence of jingles and jangles whose microrhythms are very subtly dependent on the player's skill and technique. A tambourine in the hands of a skilled and talented player can be amazing; a tambourine in anyone else's hand is nothing more than a noisemaker.

If you are aware that you cannot play the tamborine, you know more about the instrument than most tambourine players.

well, there is the rock tamborine-probably the way youve seen it played, with a dancing chick shakin it, and there is the traditional way- puting all your figers together to hit the tamborine while holding it with your other hand

[IMG]Play any music and play along with it with your tambourine, if there isnt a tambourine part in it, Make one, just keep rhythm, make it sound good, MAKE IT YOUR OWN!

I wasnt allowed to touch a guitar until i learned how to keep rhythm on drums, hand drums. I am so glad I wasnt allowed to this day, because i definetly benefited!
