Hello everyone! So I'm miserably smoking whatever resin i have since i haven't been able to score. There's still a little bit in there that i can't scrape out. Is there something i can do to get it all out? I'd really like the bowl to be totally clean. Alcohol will not work! I want to smoke the resinnnnn! Can't boil it obvioiusly. How do I get out every little bit that's in there to SMOKE?! Yeah it's gross but it gets me high and reminds me of the good ol hash days. Oh and might i add, it's a nice glass bowl (in case you didn't fig. that out) Gracias.
That's not nasty. Resin gets you high as shit. I'd recommend heating the glass with a lighter before you scrape it. Don't let the flame touch it, just get a good heat. Then just bend a paper clip around until you get all of it. Good luck.
You can still use alcohol to clean it out, all you have to do is let the alco dry out and evaporate, then you should be able to grab the res and light it up. This isn't really an option for instant results though
I always thought that was just a myth, that the shit building up in pipes and stuff was just tar, and didn't really have any valuable THC? I suppose I am wrong then
you absolutely CAN get high from resin - people do it all the time and i've done it quite often myself. in fact it only takes me a couple good rips of resin to be completely stoned. usually a bowl of little balls of resin is about as strong as a bowl or two of middies. resin is inferior because it is harder on the respiratory system, it tastes and smells pretty bad most of the time, and has a reputation of causing headaches when smoked in excess or for a prolonged period of time (much like lousy weed or hash does) as well as a reputation for creating a more shortlived high. of course the length of activity for the drug does have a lot to do with the user's tolerance, but many people claim it only lasts half an hour (with both resin and pot i tend to stay high longer than most of my peers these days, but it used to be resin only lasted about a half an hour for me, mids lasted 45 minutes to an hour and a half, and nugs only lasted two to three hours....these days i notice much less difference in the length of activity from various grades of cannabis, which i attribute largely to a significantly decreased consumption) but it most certainly is potent and will get you high, even if its not the same as smoking regular cannabis. it is definitely more sedating than the pot it came from in most circumstances. it is somewhat different and i would personally prefer smoking it at night myself.
just hold the lighter under the stem or wherever the resin is and suck through the mouthpeice. I assume that would work. Or turn the pipe around, light through the mouthpeice and suck through the carb/bowl.
often the best resin is near the bowl. this is partly because the smoke passing over the glass in this area is more concentrated with THC and such, but also because small bits of bud, stem, and leaves also get stuck to the glass. it builds up a cake in this area similar to the caking found in tobacco pipes, whereas the buildup near the mouthpeice is often downright negligable. if i'm trying to get resin and not just clean the piece, then i often will unbend one of those cheap wire clothes hangers. just straighten out the hook as much as you can and go in through the mouthpeice to scrape hard to reach areas. knives, scalpels, paper clips, and other tools are good, but to get resin from certain parts you need to go in at an angle these tools dont often allow for, which is where the clothes hanger comes in handy. be careful, if you are reckless any of these tools could damage or even destroy your pipe! as was mentioned, if you're not in a hurry you CAN use the purest isopropyl alcohol you can find. never use alcohol that has any ingredients other than alcohol and distilled water, and use the highest percentage possible. only 90+% alcohol should be used. soak the pipe for a day or two in the alcohol, then pour the liquid into a CLEAN pyrex baking dish and let it dry slowly. do not heat-dry it as it may ignite the alcohol, or cause the alcohol to form a flammable vapor by evaporating too quickly. good ventilation is a definite plus. when its all dry a sticky, nasty film should cover the baking dish, which can be scraped off with a razor blade and smoked. it works, and it gets you high, but i find it less pleasant than scraped resin for reasons i cannot figure out. but it works, and gets all your resin and completely cleans your pipe. its not a bad way to do it. but keep some excess alcohol on hand apart from what you soak your pipe in....that resin wont come up in a dishwasher, you'll want a solvent to get it out, and since you're already using alcohol, keeping some leftover might be a good idea.

i can't stress enough that you must be careful, especially with the clothes hanger! so far its among the best picks i've found for getting hard-to-reach resin, but it also has the most potential to damage the bowl if it isnt particularly thick glass! i've never damaged a bowl this way, but only because i'm careful. you can never straighten it out 100% and depending on how crooked the thing is and the shape of your bowl and thickness of the glass, a wrong turn here or too firm a push there could end up cracking your piece. but, as i've said i've never hurt a bowl doing this, and i've done it many, many times over. i only ever broke one bowl in my life, the first one i ever bought, which i was dumb enough to take hiking with me.... using care should make this method more than worthwhile. a lot of resin builds up where you can't normally reach, if you've had a bowl for a long time!
